These stories are fantasies to help us forget about our stressful or boring lives. I am okay with standard 'tropes'. What isn't standard is the adorkableness of the stories. Tea's characters are relatable, but quirky. You never know what is going to come out of their mouth, but it is always the right thing.

There's only one word for this: Adorkable. Or perhaps heart-warming would be a better fit? And I definitely feel that you can make a case for fudging fantastic even though that is two words. Hmm... Okay, so, actually there are four words for this. But no, wait, there are also words like sweet and charming and warm and funny and they all apply too... And then I suppose there are sentences like, โ€œI loved this!โ€ and โ€œI hope there is more of these two wonderful dorks to come.โ€ and โ€œIs there anything better than an instant connection and buckets of enthusiasm overcoming anxiety?โ€ โ€ฆ Okay, so, as it turns out, there are many, many, many words for this and I have a problem understanding very basic maths. So for all our sakes, I'll confine myself to just one more: Perfect.

did you just describe tea as hot leaf juice uncle Iroh would be very upset to hear that

โ€œThe gruffer sexโ€ was a hilarious line. I enjoyed that one. Iโ€™m beginning to get a better sense of the writing in your ASMR videos and your performance styles. The awkwardness here wasnโ€™t as desperate as the tomboy and more resembled a character youโ€™d see in a Joss Whedon show. Itโ€™s hard to juggle so many characters without too many similarities creeping in, but I think you do a good job. The โ€œyouโ€™re weird just like me partโ€ was delivered in such a way that it felt fresh and heartwarming. It could have felt clichรฉ but didnโ€™t. So I think nailed that. Audience surrogates are a tricky thing under any circumstances in storytelling. This is true for ASMR where the listener is supposed to see themselves as a part of the story. Anytime you characterize the listener, youโ€™re doing indirect (shown) or direct (told) characterization. This can make an ASMR so much better or take the listener out of it if they do not. If, say, the people listening donโ€™t like coffee and the character orders coffee, theyโ€™ve either got to roll with it or no. Same goes for the listenerโ€™s attractiveness. It could serve as wish fulfillment who doubts their appearance or it could make them go โ€œIโ€™d never be in that situation.โ€ Since that part is a part of the premise, I think it works here, though I havenโ€™t seen many people who are hot and donโ€™t know theyโ€™re hot. Yes, it is a common storytelling trope, but people who are beautiful (of whatever gender) tend to be treated differently. Sometimes itโ€™s a blessing, sometimes itโ€™s a curse. Just a heads up of the risk versus reward there, and the not knowing they were gorgeous didnโ€™t work for me. I think for others, the trope is familiar enough to make them comfortable, so I think it would work for the general audience and itโ€™s right there in the description if it wouldnโ€™t work for them. So itโ€™s all good. I notice you do use a lot of general sentiments and standard tropes that people would be familiar with. That makes sense considering your wide audience. Trying to craft something too niche or particular has downfalls, and I think youโ€™ve got enough sentiments that your internet-roving audience would sympathize with at the very least. Youโ€™re also playing to your target audience rather well, particularly since dealing with self-consciousness and anxiety tend to be common themes of your work. You try to generate a form of understanding with your characters, and I think it will resonate well with that target audience. This one feels more like a one-shot to me. Iโ€™m not sure if you plan on it becoming a series, but this one has solid closure that makes it effective in that role, whereas ones like the Tomboy and AI had room to grow and continue because there are some unresolved issues. While the speaker is self-conscious, they seem to get what they want and thereโ€™s resolution. The raindrop sounds on what I thought was an umbrella worked pretty well as background here.

Can we please have more of this???

Kihings

This HAS to be a series, I absolutely loved it

I'll be honest, this one wasn't "my cup of tea" (pun intended). You've done absolutely flawless performance, it just didn't "click" with me. Keep up the good work ๐Ÿ‘.

I havent even had a chance to listen yet but I am so happy about this!

I think these kinds of precious gifts we call "audios" that you give us are a huge reason I manage to hold onto any semblance of hope. Thank you so much for yet another phenomenal audio, Tea. Can't wait for the next one! Until then, be safe, do your best, keep up the awesome work, take things at your own pace, have fun, keep doing what you love, and as always, remember to smile! ๐Ÿ˜„โค๐Ÿ’™
