I'm not sure there are many solo-devs in the world that could produce what I have, in under 2 years. It's more than the abilities and experience though, it's sheer raw brute force and passion. By the time you hit 40 in the game industry, it's common to get jaded, go into management and so on.
For me however, this is the project of my life for sure, to put it simply, you and I both want, hot babes, kick-ass bros, epic battles, deep-lore, expansive, ORIGINAL Sci-Fi and a story that doesn't compromise to tick boxes.
This is why i'm always hounding you guys for feedback, this game wont get shipped until the core group of you guys are happy with the Alphas, Beta's and extended Demos.
To that point, this is just a wish, so don't quote me on this. But it would kind of be my dream to have hit the 15/20 hour gameplay mark by end of February (the 2 year anniversary). At that point, I can draw a line, and focus a week or two on shipping an Alpha Demo for you guys.
Like I say, it's a stretch, i might overshoot, but I think it'll be pretty close.
Final point, YOU GUYS are making this game as much as I am, your encouragement literally fuel me, i'm not some piffy corporate speaking dude, nor am I an ego driven 'it was all meeee', i'm a simple guy at the end of the day, just like you. When you say 'great job dude', guess what, that f*cking puts a fire under me, it makes me want too work harder and get more 'atta-boys' and pats on the back (I'm just human! if it works, it works)
Motivation drives me, but that said, criticism doesn't hurt (as long as its well intentioned) - because i treat it less as 'this sucks' and more of 'this is a bug to fix, feature to implement'. Though right now, critical feedback isn't as important to me, as it will be once you guys have got your hands on Alphas and demos.
