Book 2/45 - God King

Ring - 9th
Realm - MURHIL

Everyone stared in awe and shock at the collosus that stood before then. Four of the tall and mighty entities stood like guards in the pathway that led to the very peak.

From this distance Athena could make out the temple like building behind the monoliths. The final boss of this dungoen. It had been fun, she'd gained a lot of things, learned many more, bonded with the Sykerians; atleast she saw it that way, for a companion and soldiers.

If this goes how I want I'll be having many more. Her white hair moved as a slight breeze touched it. She glanced at the Flying Knights, admiring the beauty of their burning wings from this close up. All six stood ramrod straight like the Throne Guardians.

"Go".

Heat flashed through the area as blazing wings beat in rhythm with the others. The knights ascended fast and without hesitation. The perfect army. She watched them climb higher and higher before turning to the Sykerians. Ernwes in particular.

"Ready?".

The Sykeri gulped his one large eye unmoving from the gigantic form. Then he turned back to her. "Its not everyday one gets to fight things like this. Plus I won't die, hopefully". His eye steeled with determination. "I'm ready".

"And them". She gestured to the others.

He didn't even glance back as he shrugged. "I doubt they'll want out now".

She raised an eyebrow in confusion. Noticing Ernwes answered quickly. "It's almost reaching the sky my lady" he gestured to gigantic things. This would be a tale for the Sykerin and Sykeri for some".

"Ahh". Athena went through the plan in her head again. I don't see how they'll be much help but I guess participation in some way matters. "Very well. You know what to do".

She didn't wait for him to affirm or move before she turned forward. The Knights were almost to the faces. Time to go.

Tepes bumped her from the left sending images of both together. Riding around the giants and destroying them.

Smiling she sent back an image of what she wanted. What she expected. The Impera Cervus snorted. Gray mist escaping it's nose. Its green eyes pulsed brightly for a moment before it turned away. Walking past her with a clearly annoyed expression it swung it's rear knocking her forward.

Athena chuckled and shook her head. The first explosion rumbled through the air and snapped her to focus. The knights had engaged the entities. The vanishing blast of an attack visible on women of them.

The giant moved, not its legs but it's hands. The roar of the wind as it's hands passed around it was audible even below. Athena dashed forward. Her feet stomping the ground and pushing her forward. Cracks and dents formed where ever she stepped.

She jumped. Sculpting a step forward herself she landed and then kicked off again. Steps formed where ever she was meant to land and slowly she got closer to the first giant. With her height around its calf and slowly rising she waved her left hand.

Thick, durable vines erupted from the ground around the first giant's feet. Like green anacondas the circled each feet and went upwards. The giant was focused on the knights probably due to the vines not having attacked yet.

Or it's just too big to feel em. It was a reasonable point considering it's size.

Athena was at its hip height and she kept tugging on the viens to follow. She began forming the steps instinctively as she focused on dragging the vines up.

When the vine got to its chest and began growing around its arms, and up to its neck the giant finally felt it.

It grabbed at the bins on its right shoulder and tuggef. Quickly she made the vines grow faster and follow its pull. Flexing her sculpt more viens grew from the dragged vine and ensnared the things neck and head. It dropped the vine to gor for its face but the vines were already stretching and wrapping around its hand and up its left arm.

Athena jumped to the final step and stared at the things face up close. It was featureless. Mouth less, nose less and eyeless. Even ears were none present. The head was just a smooth cylinder.

Athena ran forward, steps forming in front of each of her steps. Getting to the giant's head she ignored it's struggle with the vines to leap for its face.

It was not like the vines were binding it or restraining it. The vines were just growing off it and around it. If the vines had attempted to bind its hand ao4nlwge together Athena was ure it would simply move and tear them like tissue.

This way, the viens were infuriating, like a swarm of insects climbing a body. Just like jumping into water was the best way to get them off one without harm, fire was the best way to burn the vines here.

The giant tipped it's head over in a silent featureless scream. Athena dropped on its well, face.

She was inside it's head immediately. "Mind Sculpt".

Pulling at the pools she wanted and changing them Athena found more information on what she was searching for.

"That's how it does it". She peeked through everything she needed and erased what was not needed. Sentinels. Fitting.

She left the Sentinel's mind and jumped off. A step of force caught her. Staring up at the Sentinel she watched it stop pulling at the Vines. It's head tilted down almost like it was looking at her.

"Stop the others".

It turned slowly, its feet shaking the mountain top as it faced the closest Sentinel.

Mind Leap took Athena to its shoulder. The Sentinel pulled it's right hand back and Athena dashed forward racing for the curved elbow. Wind roared and smacked into her as the arm roared forward. It was sskwo and yet it's sheer size meant the punch was devastating.

The victim rocked back. Athena Mind Leaped to its shoulder. Chains darted ou5nif nothing to wrap her up and anchor her to the Sentinel. The Sentinel rocked again, then a plume of fire washed off its face and around he r

"Ahh. Stop. Go stop another one". Her voice wasn't loud enough but fortunately the Flying Knight and Sentinel heard. Turning both found another Sentinel to bully.

*Sorry big guy". Midm sculpt went to work on its mind. It was faster this time with all the information she would have paused to watch already seen.

Athena shook her head as she got out of the thing's head. The Sentinel turned slowly to stare at its shoulder.

"Bring them down".

As the Sentinel turned and moved for the other Sentinels Athena Mid Leaped into the air. Then side stepped closer to another Sentinel before Mind leaping again to the Sentinel's shoulder.

As she entered it's mind and began rearranging its memories she couldn't help but notice how easy it had been. It wasn't this easy when I met that creature. Not understanding the reason why this ones had been easier to dominate she just finished up and exited.

The flying knights were like bugs to the Sentinels still standing. Their fiery slashes detonated off the sentinel heads and their quick flight made them hard to catch.

With the two Mind Sculpted sentinels joining up they soon found themselves on the backfoot. Athena formed chains around ones feet binding it. A punch sent it stumbling and crashing.

The mountain trembled.

Below Ernwes, the Sykerians and the Throne Guardians watched the battle.

"No one else finds it disturbing how the sentinels just quickly fall under her command?". Kaelen asked eye unmoving from the fight.

Doranis shrugged without answering while Vairon shook his head finding the question stupid.

"We've already seen her tdo it wirh them. What's the difference there?". Theron asked confused.

"Maybe the fact their Gigantic". Kaelen snapped his large eye swiveling to glare at his friend.

"I don't think size matters". Elthar murmured. Everyone turned to him. "I mean. That Mudscrapper was huge too and it ran away".

" You think she chased it instead of doing the same to it?". Vairon asked.

" I think she couldn't do the same to it. The question is why".

Malekai grunted. " Doesn't matter now. We've got incoming ". He drew two spikes from his back with both hands and stepped forward.

Lyriana grabbed his arm and tugged him back. "Let the Throne Guardians take the front. That's why she let them with us".

Malekai didn't seem to appreciate that but a look from Ernwes killed any arguments she had.

"No need to rush Malek". Zarek winked. "When she kills the Boss we'll get something when better than anything those could give".

That worked to calm the Sykeri but he still fidgeted as the Throne Guardians rushed forward. All seventeen formed a line with ten ahead and seven behind.

The Impera Cervus stepped ahead of them too it's antlers spinning and taking on its jagged and spiked form. The Sykerians shivered.

"Let's move. Assist from behind with the spikes and if you run out let the Elder Force's beast grant you more".

Ahead rushing from the temple was an army of Throne Guardians with Seraphim Knights flying above them. Both sides raced to meet the other. The Flying Knights already began letting loose streaks of fiery slashes at the Sykerians.

Tepes ran fast and jumped over the Throne Guardians. In front its horns swiveled and a transparent shield formed over them stopping the attacks.

The horns stretched and changed again. Green and golden mist rising from the Impera Cervus. The Sykerians felt a difference instantly.

"Is it buffing us?". Theron asked. Elthar smiled and Malekai ran faster.

"Use the boost. Throw". Everyone raised their spikes and flung them hard. The ten projectiles crossed the distance and tore through the ranks of both flying and ground troops.

"Hahaha". Malekai leaped over the Throne Guardians ignoring Ernwes glare.

Lyriana and Miltrendi were the next to run faster. Both splitting and rushing from the sides of the lines. Lyriana to the left and Miltrendi to the right.

"Haha. I love it". Zarek shouted as he telekinesis reached across the distance and snagged his spike back to him.

It shot through the air and slammed into his palm. Theron and Vairon quickly followed and stared in shock as their weapons flew through the air and struck their hands.

"Ready for impact!". Ernwes yelled.

Malekai running next to Tepes held his spike up like a spear. The Sykerin to both sides did the same. Tepes antlers swiveled and reformed the deadly spikes it had. It pointed it's head low and antlers forward.

Then a blinding flash of white and gold light erupted from its horns, forward hooves and head. The Throne Guardians and Seraphim Knights were instantly blinded in the moment.

Malekai dive forward and rammed his spike through one's chest. Letting the force carry it away he dragged his spike back and swiped in a diameter ahead knocking the Throne Guardians down.

Lyriana and Miltrendi smashed into the sides of the little army their spikes jabbing and impaling before retracing and repeating. The moment faded and the Seraphim Knights and Throne Guardians remained their visions.

Tepes smashed through their center ranks. Before the illogical dungeon mobs could swing or choose a target the mind sculpref Throne Guardians hit them hard. Their numbers low but the swift attacks had left the ranks in shambles and the enemy searching for them.

Above though, the Seraphim Knights didn't have such problems. Ernwes seeing the knights dropping to attack jumped to them.

Grabbing himself with Telekinesis he pushed himself farther up and impaled the first one. Telekinesis blew it off his spike and he turned with his mind throwing the spike at another. The next spike alrein hand he pushed himself to ram into another descending knight.

Another was on him sword carving through the air with a heated ferocity when a spike impaled and sent it flying back. Ernwes barely noticed as he used his palm to rip his foe's head off.

Turning he found the others already around him spikes thrown and drawn back.

"We're here Captain". Kaelen grunted as he dragged his spike out of a foe while sending it flying backwards.

Dorainis , Kaelen, Theron, Vairon, Elthar and Zarek floated by his sides. Ernwes grinned at the sight of them already using telekinesis like him.

The Seraphim Knights smashed into their group as the impaled and retrieve their spikes. Ernwes gripped them with his Telekinesis and pushed back buying space for his Sykerians to put them down.

Below as knights rained Malekai, Lyriana and Miltrendi assisted the Throne Guardians Tepes in crushing the enemy. Golden armor littered the ground as attacks were waved and enemies felled. Malekai was brutal with his Telekinesis. Flinging the enemy around, to him and impaling or curtain their heads with his boots.

Catching a Throne Guardian's hand he impaled his spike through its helmet jar and out the skull before kicking it awaywjile grasping and retrieving it's sword. Throwing the spike into the closest enemy he wielded the Throne Guardian's sword with a fury.

It cut through them easily eliciting the Sykeri to follow his steps.

Yet the enemy were too many. Even with them using the Throne Guardians to evade and attacking from ambushes or quick strike they didn't go unharmed. Especially Ernwes group fighting off the Seraphim Knights.

Kaelen was the first to fall with a blast to his face sending him to the ground where a Throne Guardian stabbed him. Dorainis tore two knights off Ernwes leaving himself open to an attack that cut him in two.

Theron and Zarek back to back fought off the enemies while Eithar and Vairon stayed close. A burning sword through Ernwes shoulder sent him crashing out of the skirmish and down to the ground.

Tepes was a force of nature. His hooves shook the earth his antlers gorged his enemies and blasta of force sent many toppling.

The Throne Guardians themselves were taking the brunt of the battle. With six already a pile of armor the remaining eleven fought.

Vairon was holding off three Knights l. His spike flashing out and back as he tried to catch weaknesses. One slashed out a wave of fire and when he fucked to the side a burning sword impaled his side.

Grabbing the blade he ignored the burning pain and thrusted. The knight went limp but the other two were already swinging for his head.

Two attacks. One head. Wondering why would get to him first even as he few back his spike to thrust for one of them. I didn't get to see the last boss. "Tssssk".

BOOM!
BOOM!

Fire exploded off the two aiming for him. The swords went off course and scraped off his armor. He felt it more than he saw it. Force erupting close by. Even as he turned to find it he caught the sight of a Seraphim Knight flying right past him and engaging another of its kind.

His eyes found her next. Larger than everything on the field, standing on a sheet of white force. In her hands two Seraphim Knights hung. She let go anst he watched them smashed into their former comrades.

Silver eyes met his large gaze and a shiver ran down his spine as she grinned. She was gone and the white sheet with her. The next thing he felt was vitality coursing through him and the sword still in his abdomen pulled out.

She was there, an encouraging smile as she retrieved the sword and then his wound shut. "Here". Speechless he took the long blade from her and she was gone.

Ernwes lay on the ground breathing hard as the ground shook around him. He stared in the distance as the large collosus all marched for the boss. Then he felt Vitality rush through him.

He was speaking before he even turned. "The Sykeri . Wounded".

"I've gotten to those still standing".

Ernwes frowned. "Those still standing?".

Athena understood how it felt to give and receive news. "Kaelen and Dorainis didn't make it".

He grunted. "I really hope it's not permanent".

Athena nodded. "Me too". Helping the Sykeri up she watched the confused battle around her. She'd already mind sculprefd more and had them attacking.

"We can take it from here".

An eyebrow rose.

"You're already going to take the boss alone. We won't be able to help. Let us have this. Besides we have your Throne Guardians and Seraphim Knights. You can also send back one of those to watch and make sure it gets done if that's what you want".

"What I want is for more of you to work out of where with me victorious".

Ernwes frowned as she patted his shoulder and ignored his confusion. She was gone and he exhaled as he knew she wouldn't be explaining anytime soon. His eye went down to the golden sword she'd left in his grasp as they spoke.

"Walk out of where with you. Victorious". He took a deep breathe and raised the sword. "I'm more worried for what comes next". Bellowing he dashed into the battle.

It was easier to know who was with who. The aura of Force around the sculpted ones helping to identify each.

He cleaved their heads off. His worry banished for now.

Athena made the final Mind Leap to the edge of the Temple. It had been a fun run but the dungeon was over now. She liked it too. I'll log out, get some sleep, then eat a lot.

She walked through the brick path and garden of golden flowers at her sides. The Sykerians. Gordorik. They'll all have to make a choice and he'll have to descend that sit. I can't have someone ready to kill me for his own neck.

She shook her head. She'd been thinking of it all through the dungoen and as confused as she remained on what decision to make she still knew his decision had been nothing personal. Atleast to her. He'd made a choice for his people.

Athena stopped at the entrance to the temple proper. A massive wooden door with golden handles. Hasn't the gold theme sickened the designer already.

She grabbed the handles and eyeing the hinges pushed.

Warm, sweet smelling wind blasted out. Ruffled her hair clothes and tickled her skin.

First, this boss. Then the choice.

The temple looked like one plucked out of Roman theater. Large pillars, Throne Guardians and Seraphim Knights on both sides.

All of them turned to her with a simultaneous step. Swords were drawn and then the charged her. With a thought the Forest Pendant was unequipped and the Celestial Amulet equipped.

The Bastard Sword of the first boss appeared in her hand. He tugged on the oendant's energy and pushed it into the sword. She watched the stream of gold flow into the sword and it's light brightenz the edge became a glare so bright she would have shut her eyes if she was anyone else.

The last guards of the boss all pounced. Athena swung from the right and a beam of white, gold and blue light erupted. It was so bright it blinded the hall.

When it dimmed, the sword was pointed to the left and all the Throne Guardians and Seraphim Knights were scattered in two parts on the ground. The pendant vanished and the Forest Pendant took its place. The sword vanished as well and Athena stepped through the Armors littering the temple.

There it was. The boss. Seated on a throne of gold, adorned in golden robes, a corner of gold, a face made of white light when its hands were white. It wore golden sandals too. It didn't move as Athena stepped closer.

"Are you done hiding behind your mobs?". Her eyes took him in and the gold sickened her. At this rate I'll be allergic to gold.

The boss moved. Its hands leaning on the Throne hands and pushing itself upright. When it moved the temple shook. It leaned to the side of its throne and pulled out a long sword made of pure white light.

Silently it stepped down the steps towards her. Only when it was within two sword lengths did it stop. It raised its sword and Athena watched curious and confused. Then it swung down.

It was instant. One moment the sword was cutting through air in her direction the next the temple trembled and blinding z scalding light struck her.

Athena screamed as the instant pain was horrendous. It became pressure the next second and forced her into the ground.

The next moment it ended and looked up with a glare as the Boss stood above her. His robes were gone, in its place was an armor that looked like the void trapping the stars.

The sword was gone and in its place was a long scepter with the base touching the ground and the round head reaching its chest.

It raised the scepter and banged it hard on the ground. Light spilled and flowed in all directions. Athena forced herself slowly to her feet as pressure which she understood was pain kept her down. Still she watched as the light seeped into the Dead corpses, into the walls and just stayed in place.

The dead rose. The walls rumbled and formed miniature Sentinels and the light just stayed in place taking on humanoid forms like the Boss.

"Like you asked. I am not done hiding behind my mobs". Athena swore that fucker was grinning. She couldn't confirm though as all the created entities pounced.
