Chapter 36 Business Isn't Done This Way

Arthur pointed to the pile of electronic products and asked, "How much are those new phones and computers?"

Sebastian looked at Arthur and said, "Half the price, retail only. If you want to buy all of them, we can discuss the price again."

Arthur sighed, then whispered to Frank, "Can I buy a computer with my own money?"

Frank shrugged, smiling, "There are so many good things here. If you want to buy, wait until after our operation ends. If you still care about saving that little money by then."

Arthur hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

It's true that when people are poor, they tend to have short-term thinking. Who cares about saving a few hundred or a few thousand dollars if the treasure hunt is successful?

Arthur scolded himself inwardly but still found the stolen goods very attractive. When you're used to being poor, you can't help but feel like it's a waste not to pick up something cheap.

John, on the other hand, wasn't interested in buying the cheap goods here. He just looked around casually and didn't say a word, appearing much more dignified than Arthur.

Frank's purchases were just a few items. After everything was packed and paid for with a card instead of cash, they didn't even need to carry the items themselves, as Sebastian would have them delivered to the hotel.

Not long after, they said goodbye to Sebastian. Once they were out of the so-called underground mall, Arthur couldn't help but say, "This is an underground mall. I'm just curious, who is Sebastian?"

Frank replied indifferently, "He controls the black market in Bogotá, with the largest gang of thieves under his command. Almost everything stolen or robbed has to be sold to him. Of course, he can't control all the thieves and robbers, so private transactions are inevitable. But if a thief or a gang of robbers doesn't want to trade through him, they can expect trouble."

Arthur nodded, "Understood, a gang leader."

Frank smirked, "You can think of it that way. However... he has a public identity as well, as the deputy chief of the Bogotá Police Department in charge of theft and robbery cases."

Arthur fell silent, then after a while, he smiled bitterly, "Well, Colombia is indeed a magical country, which is why it produced great writers like Marquez. I understand now."

The rifles on display were of better quality, although they were old, they were still usable, but like the handguns, they didn't come with spare magazines.

The seller's expression softened slightly, but he still said with a stern face, "Magazines are a hundred each, AKs are two thousand one each, bullets are a thousand dollars a box, no retail. Rifles are five thousand six each, handguns are twenty-five thousand each, C4 with detonators is ten thousand, a total of thirty-six thousand six hundred dollars, cash only, the goods will be delivered when the money is received."

Frank didn't spend any more. He took out three stacks of bills from his bag and placed them on the table, saying in a deep voice, "I only brought thirty thousand, buddy, how about forgetting the six hundred?"

The seller hesitated for a moment. Although he looked unhappy, he nodded and picked up the walkie-talkie, saying, "Bring five Glocks and ten kilograms of C4."

The atmosphere was tense, no one said anything else, and then they waited for more than half an hour before someone finally brought the goods.

The handguns were indeed still in their boxes, but there were no bullets. The seller, with an air of superiority, said, "You'll get the bullets when you leave. Goodbye."

It was a very unpleasant shopping experience. After leaving the tin shack and receiving a tin box of bullets outside, along with several boxes of handgun ammunition, even Arthur felt like loading the gun and teaching that arrogant young man a lesson in speaking.

"After we're done, I'll make sure to take down that bastard."

John said angrily. Frank, however, said without much enthusiasm, "Forget it. Guns are expensive here, to begin with. It's good enough to get new ones. Our business is the most important. Let's not stir up trouble."

Arthur sighed and said, "If I were selling arms, I wouldn't do it like this. Business isn't done this way."

Rubber suddenly said, "Arms dealers are all like this. This guy is nothing. He's not even a proper arms dealer."

Frank waved his hand repeatedly and said, "Let's not talk about this. Let's go see our plane now. The guns aren't that useful; the plane is the most important thing."

George looked at his watch and suddenly said, "It's still early. If the plane is ready, Captain, should we fly over now? If you're not too tired, we could go and scout it out. Maybe we'll find it today."

Frank thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "I was thinking of going tomorrow, but I'm impatient. If you're not too tired, let's go now and check it out. Maybe we'll find it today."
