Rick: I have been trying to support you recently by buying from your shop here and there. I’ve done the same for Dan because to me, you are both creators worth supporting. Not big on CHWR (I don’t dig livestreams at all really) but I think Another Odd Place has a lot of potential. Download Atlas Obscura and go crazy! You’d be surprised what weird things are right in your backyard. I think your apologies are appreciated by most of us here, and we want to see you thrive! The problem on the podcast for me was not Rick’s lack of maturity, it was the fact that the interaction between Dan and Rick was no longer working. Rick withdrew more and more from the conversation and sounded increasingly like he was only there to plug his own channel. Dan, on the other hand, overdid it with the mockery and the humiliation. Playing a silly sound effect *every single time* Rick says something can’t be helpful. Tbh, it’s also not much fun to listen to.

I’m more than happy with my $5 a month going toward funding a weekly livestream and a podcast while he plans his next project. If you have no empathy for him while he goes through a difficult time in his life and expect him to perform like a wind-up monkey while you mock a significant portion of his content, maybe you’d be happier elsewhere.

But I honestly only pay for Patreon (going on since before the podcast started) to listen to the podcast. Used to get two episodes a week. Now none? I got a muffler to repair. I'm sorry, but the other Patreon stuff doesn't interest me. The Livestreams don't capture my interest either. Not saying they're bad, just not my thing. Idk what I'm getting out of this anymore. Dan himself basically sold his Patreon on the podcast alone. He can't pretend like you're getting your money's worth without it. This isn't a charity. It's a transaction. What am I getting out of it? I'm seriously asking. I'd love to see high production content popping out knowing my $5 was a small contribution to it. But I haven't been. At least the podcast was 2+ hours a week of Grade A entertainment. It's phenomenal. I don't know why Ricks bitching about his superchats or slow channel growth had to keep getting forced into the topic of conversation repeatedly in these podcasts (by Dan.) Rick tried to avoid the topic, showed discomfort talking about it, yet week after week his behind the scenes gripes got shoved front and center. I can't blame Rick for this. If anything, all the more reason to just ignore him behind the scenes. But Dan's patrons just wanted to hear a fun podcast. Instead we're being forced to dwell in this drama, holding out every week/month waiting to get our $5 worth. Instead we get dumb ghost videos. News flash: ghosts aren't real. Buy a science book instead of a broken radio off Amazon. Seriously, this fucking shit and these bullshit gadgets have all been thoroughly debunked and discredited. Maybe the "ghosts" in Dan's apartment are just his subconscious telling him to get the fuck out for 10-12 hours a day like normal people do. Stop drinking 2 pots of coffee, smoking two packs of cigarettes, and sleeping all day. It's funny because Rick is bitching about not getting what Dan does, but Dan is maybe getting a little too comfortable with the patron bucks and superchats. Back in 2013, Dan was on the road for months pumping out high production content with none of this support. Now he barely leaves his apartment with it. Just trying to be honest here. It's been a lot of wasted talent lately. The skills I know he has haven't been demonstrated in 2-3 years.
