i hate tape

I guess I really lucked out - I shot a documentary on two of these back in 2017 and they both worked great. The audio was a little dodgy on one, but I was able to clean it up with some plugins.

More for home movies than anything. Staying busy as usual. I'm keeping up with all the archives and definitely looking forward to whatever comes along next!!

2022-05-24 05:13:50 +0000 UTCOh my dog! A TRV240. π I shot so much material on one of those twenty years ago. But theyβre a pain in the derriere these days. The cameras all go bad because of faulty SMD capacitors, and the tapes fail due to sticky-shed syndrome. It sometimes helps to fast-forward and rewind a couple of times if the tape doesnβt play or has drop-outs. I managed to get all my stuff transferred, but some tapes took hours and hours. No fun at all! Cleaning the heads also helps, because some of those old tapes can clog the heads even within a few minutes. Good to see youβre working on stuff! I was beginning to worry. Looking fwd to the podcast and everything. ππ
