Santana!
Added 2020-07-26 18:24:40 +0000 UTCAfter I finished my last project I was wondering what to do next. I usually have a lot of ideas for my next covers but somehow the next one always becomes clear so suddenly and naturally that it never fails to surprise me and fill me with enthusiasm.
Some time ago I did a cover of Speak Low and I mentioned it's kind of similar to some of Santana's songs. There was one in particular that was constantly playing in my mind, and that was his great ballad Samba pa ti. So now I decided to go with this one and I'm super excited because I decided I want to make it fingerstyle.
I already have some pieces of neo-soul guitar patterns which could be built into the song and they combine very well with Santanas phrases from the melody. And although the rhythm change when the solo enters was a bit challenging, I did manage to make some nice lines there too.
