Little Wing

Little Wing has become an iconic song and almost every guitar player has tried it at some point. I think, whether you play it with a pick or fingerstyle, this one is a must in your repertoire.
Did you know that several of Hendrix's songs reference an idealized feminine or guardian angel-like figure? This song is melodically concise from beginning to end and presents many delicate soul phrases which are played with a lot of pull-offs, hammer-ons, triads etc.Hendrix credits Curtis Mayfield as having had the greatest influence on him, and these phrases are a tribute to Mayfield. Today you can hear these phrases played extensively by neo-soul guitarists.
Here is my transcription of Hendrix's guitar in the solo parts and also a transcription mix of his voice and guitar in parts where he sings. The song was originally played with a pick so I adjusted the transcription for fingerstyle.
