23 Bonus - June 2022 - Fingerstyle Booster 6
Added 2022-06-27 18:05:55 +0000 UTCThis month’s bonus tab is another fingerstyle exercise. This is something that I often play when I practice and I think that you will enjoy the benefits of this exercise both in terms of technique and rhythm.
The whole material is in 6/8 and it is divided into two main exercises with two preparations each.
The main idea (A1 preparation) is to play 6 consecutive notes in one bar by alternating thumb and index finger. Those six notes are divided into two groups of 3 and it turns out that the first group is played thumb-index-thumb, and the second one index-thumb-index.
When you master this, the 1C exercise itself is played easily because the pattern in your right hand remains exactly the same, the only difference being the change of some notes.
In the second part of the material which is related to the second exercise, the principle remains exactly the same. However, we start from the second bar and third note in it, which is played with the index finger.
In each exercise you may notice the markings for the right hand fingers: thumb (p), index finger (i) and middle finger (m), so you cannot go wrong. It is very important that you follow the markings because it is impossible to play the exercise correctly if you reverse the fingering.
