I normally delete the sponsor segments from Patreon editions of videos BUT the Critical Hit Soda people seemed very nice and the segment is funny so I left it in!

Hey Mike I love your videos man!! Where can I find the stuff on all the life change stuff that happened?

Bailey Garrant

The one I always remember is when he got a wireless microphone. Stood on a random roof

I doubt they'd cut through paper. If I sharpened them that much it would leave the blade very weak. It's kinda all about the taper? Angle? I am not sure what word the swordstans use. In general, for all my blades, I made the edge twice the depth of the thickness. So if I'm sharpening something 1/4" thick, it gets an edge 1/2" deep and so on. Someone in the comments once said that this was an ok angle for cutting blades. The Hardox I use is only 450 HBW, so an extremely sharp blade would probably be fragile. But if I made one of these giant swords out of stuff that was like 600 or similar (which is more like knife steel) I'd worry that it would break as it twisted weird through a log. In general you always barter between edge retention and brittleness.

How sharp do you made these? Sharp enough to cut paper or just sharp enough that the weight of it glides through a melon?
