Gibbon: Beyond the Trees ultrawide and wider solution

My month of solutions isn't over yet, so why not use the opportunity?

It's another day and another indie game on Unity which unfortunately lacks any form of ultrawide and wider support.

The good news is that the path to addressing the issue was quite straightforward. The worse news is that it took me a while to get there.

Although the basics were nothing out of the ordinary for a Unity game, none of the old patterns applied, so the research had to be done anew and specifically for this game. Having passed the threshold, I was able to go for my trusted way of forcing games to use the current monitor resolution, while fixing the UI scaling was trickier but predictable.

For a game where finishing the main story takes about an hour, I'd say that fixing it in about one day of on-and-off work is reasonable! If you like this game, you will probably like Endling, and vice versa.
