March 2022 Update: Blue Dragon, News, and the 50th episode special

Heyo sorry for the radio silence for a few months but I’m still here I promise haha. Just wanna throw a little update out there to show that I AM working on stuff lol

So in my previous update video I mentioned that I was gonna be taking it easy for a while and making low effort stuff until I managed to crawl out of my little hole of depression and imposter syndrome and honestly, while I still have those days, I don’t think that’s a huge issue anymore. What HAS been an issue is suddenly being slammed with one of the worst bouts of sickness I’ve ever had in my life (my eyes were producing so much fluid they could have filled the glasses of every Australian for a year) followed immediately by my osteoarthritis flaring up again and claiming my left arm, which isn’t my dominant arm, but it was painful enough that I was mostly incapacitated for a bit. All this followed immediately after my microphone finally kicking the bucket (almost - it’s hanging on by a thread and is a pain in the ass to get working properly due to a faulty connection, but I have a new mic coming in the mail soon enough thanks to you guys 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡)

Despite being sick and in unbearable pain for a few weeks, I’ve at least managed to get a bit done for future projects. A video on the game FUEL is partially edited right now and I’m about to head back to that after I post this, but also, I’m just about to tackle the final boss of Blue Dragon, a game I’m beating for the first time but also don’t see a lot of people talking about, so I think that’ll be really fun to do a video on! And yes, Lost Odyssey will follow sometime in the future.

The next Racclog is almost written; it’s a long one, as not only do I talk about various demos and trials as well as having a segment on the Steam Next Fest, but I also wanna try a little news segment. I’ve been inspired by the likes of Skill Up’s This Week in Videogames and Lyle Rath’s Pregame Discharge and wanna see how I’d go at talking about some gaming news, upcoming releases etc that interest me. Riffing in the gaming industry is something I’ve always wanted to try, and depending on how it goes, it may become a regular Racclog segment, OR maybe its own video - not as regular as the aforementioned inspirations, but maybe like, every couple of months. Just as a recap. I dunno. It sounds fun, but I’ll see how that goes.

There are a bunch of other games I wanna talk about; Days Gone has a script partially written, I’m undecided on whether to give Gran Turismo 7 a full video or just give it a Racclog segment, and those other videos I’ve mentioned before - Spyro: A Hero’s Tail, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier and the Ratchet weapons ranking video - are all coming along well, the latter of which finally has a complete script, and I’ll be knocking that out in the recording booth soon!

If we count reviews, Top 10s/78s, Bloody Short Reviews and Racclogs, however, we’re rapidly approaching the 50th valeforXD/RemyRaccoon episode, and SPOILERS IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH but y’all probs know what it is.

So for the 50th episode, I’m gonna review Ford VS Chevy again. This time, I’ll be completing it instead of doing literally the first tier and going full AVGN or JonTron on it, and being more fair and critical towards it rather than hating it simply because I didn’t like it as a kid and picked it over Scaler for some reason. While I’m not expecting much, I think it’s only fitting that my horrible first video gets a modern, raccoon flavoured update.

To go with the 50th episode, I may also be updating Remy’s design and drawing new stills to go with it, as the way I draw Remy now is a little different to how they look in videos, but Remy looks fine enough that I may not do that for a while. Either way I wanna update those character stills so don’t be surprised if Remy looks a little different soon. (Heck, you can already see little changes in the Racclog stills, even if those are overly simplified lol.)
