Poll 86 Results, Poll 87 and This Week

WW2 Arty/CAS won this time- I feel like something dramatic is in order.

Realistically though, there are finite number of calibres and plenty of them are similar, so at some point I'm going to have to think of something else to do.

Anyway, this week the main effort is CC23, with the Mixed American Mech Inf- how does our M113 infantry fare when we take away one of their rifle platoons and give them 5 M60s instead? I kind of like having 3 infantry platoons, so the tanks better pull their weight...

I wrote out the introduction yesterday and tweaked the force org chart (well done past me for leaving me no room to add things in), so I should be able to get stuck into the playthrough today.

Past that, we're back to the War Room and veering away from the Peninsular War (I still want to cover 2nd Porto at some point because that's a rare and imho impressive Wellington offensive battle), so I think we're going to head over to the Aleutians. Or do that detailed Bomber Command raid featured in Instruments of Darkness.

Anyway, this week's poll is back to moderns where we've got Armour Penetration and Infantry Firepower to choose from.

Comments

For the armor penetration do one with T-64s please?

Ben Kerry

Need my M60 lore checked again, just can’t remember the names. I got a 1980 report on M60s in army use. The manpower crisis was really bad (I think if NATO is to win any of the Cold War Gone Hot, their best shot is some sort of soft mobilization 1 year before the war, after Afghanistan) I remember there are two kinds of M60A3, the passive ones don't have thermals but has ballistic computers and laser rangefinders.

Ben Kerry

Yeah, it's the RISE Passive. The A2 is just weird and the A3 and Abrams change the game up by having thermals. Of course, to some extent it doesn't matter that much because they all (not the Starship) have the same gun
