More than 100 tier downgrades in a month

I wanted to share this kind of record that I could detect from the stats of my patreon page and, I admit that it is quite demotivating and upsetting so I thought I would share my opinion on it. Some of the explanations why people decided to cancel their subscription is because of the password method that I introduced.
Now, I know that I do not want to give up, I like making and sharing this sort of content; I also do not want to whine about it because everyone has its own reasons why they decided to stop supporting the page, I might not share it fully but that is irrelevant.
What I want to know is: do you have any suggestion that would allow me and you to stop my content from being shared for free? I honestly do not want it to happen, and I cannot think of any other way to avoid it.

You will see most of the posts and files shared on this account available to anyone. As I previously said, it is unfair for me and for you, because you pay for this service, and I work to delived it. Moreover, I believe that it is crucial to avoid leaks because they can only damage me, especially now that I am slowly growing and developing as a creator. It is my right to take precautions if Patreon is not able to fully guarantee protection in cases like this. But I also feel sorry that you did not enjoy your experience as a patron, and I truly want to fix and improve anything that you consider as negative, unclear or ineffective.
So please, please help me make this the best service for YOU, which is what I care about, while keeping it safe. This is my answer of honesty. Thank you.

As long as people can get your content without having to pay *eventually* (I think you're allowed to give patrons and subscribers up to two weeks of early access?) and you're not putting advertising of any kind *in* your content, then you should be fine.

Turbodriver also has a Patreon where people pay for a different version of WW, so they are not distributing content for free BUT they have a limited, public version which is free, 2. on loverslab there are free versions of both the animations and body mods, here on patreon you have access to extra content/support my work, the password is a way to discourage, as Daniel here mentioned, the freeloaders. I don't believe i am doing anything different from what anybody else does. I hope this clarifies a little bit. Am i wrong?

But that doesn’t change the fact that the impressive amount of work that went into it is absolutely dwarfed by the amount of work that went into creating the massive engine and framework upon which it rests. Your distaste for the publisher’s choices regarding their control of their own product does not erase their right to that control. Paywalling modifications of any kind is in violation of EA/Maxis policy, period. If you say that means they’re cutting off their nose despite their face in situations like this, I agree with you. The policy does leave the door open to donations, though. Could we perhaps levy some of this ostracism at a better target: the people who expect access to high quality mods in exchange for nothing? The freeloaders?

I think the only way out of this problem is through and that over time more and more future patreons will be okay with the password system.

2024-06-12 12:35:03 +0000 UTCTo be honest, and it’s 100% a personal opinion, discord is much easier to use compared to the patreon chat I don’t get notifications about it and keep forgetting it even exists whereas I'm on discord pretty much 24/7 to keep in touch with friends etc But then again, I know it’s only my point of view :p

2024-06-12 08:07:33 +0000 UTCOnly people who have never sat down in their spare time to create mods come up with this argument. Otherwise you would know how much work goes into it. And how much work goes into sharing it. This work doesn't belong to EA, who by the way let you pay for all small and large DLCs. This work belongs to the creator. All mods are optional and are not part of the base game. So you can do without them if you don't want to pay for them. You can also see that EA does not like porn mods. So why should the EA policy for paywalls apply if they violate the general rules anyway?

I am reading all of it. The link thing we tried it but it was not working properly, also the messages are leaked too, and that is why I literally sent personalized messages to everyone at one point, so that if the chat would be leaked then the name would also be revealed lol

2024-06-12 05:48:31 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, the way we were coping with the animations distribution was in fact stopping the leak, also because I usually check on the internet and see if there is anything related to the page and so on. So, it is working. I tried to change it and make it as simple as possible, so that anyone could get the password mechanism easily, but I guess it's still too complicated, or it feels unnecessary idk, that is why I felt like it would have been better maybe to explain the situation again, and give a real demonstration of what is happening. I know that every patreon has leaks, but I also know they also prevent them with these methods, that's how I came out with the password thing. So if the solution is to not make it hard for my patrons to get their content by avoiding the password system, I will stop using passwords. What is relevant to me I think I said it, to share content and satisfy who supports me but also to avoid leaks as much as possible, at least for a while. I thought it could work but it is indeed irrating for some patrons. So yeah, I might consider simply giving up and sharing again without any password.

2024-06-11 22:40:53 +0000 UTCHere's the thing... The reality is, all the creators have leaks and not just on Patreon. Content will always get out there one way or another and downloaded for free. You already demonstrated that with your example of the link to "kenmono.su" You said in your post and I paraphrase, "...I might not share it fully but that is irrelevant." The question for you to answer for yourself AND YOUR PATRONS is, "What IS relevant to you then?". Is it to make some kind of living off your creations and patron support? Is it more relevant to create and get your work out there? Is it to keep yourself AND your Patrons safe? All of the above....and so on. Do you get my drift? Because you are not going to be able to stop the leaks.... at all! It's out there and really beyond the total control of you or by standing Patrons. Done Deal, as they say. So are you going to balance out what compensation and support you DO get from legitimate Patrons? Versus... Making it hard for those legit Patrons (you feel will be treated unfairly somehow?) to even access the very thing you are offering and defending? I think, those creators on Patreon who make less obstacles for their Patrons actually get more of a following that potentially washes out the losses from leaks and such. And, I'm sure the lucrative compensation possibilities. The offerings of Tier support and annual subscriptions, probably help out a lot too? Which I think you already have? Also, most patrons want to pay and support the "real deal". You know, the original works of the Creator and not take the chance on some sketchy second hand site that is free.....well... if you don't make it an "Act of Congress" for the patrons to access it?!

Of course, if someone was to have way too many supporting them, that would be a (female dog) to do. But yes, the EA thing about stuff staying behind paywalls for longer than two weeks does stand in the way of SOME creators. There are those that DO keep their stuff for far longer than two weeks! (NOT lumping you in with those folks )

The technology and skills required to make what you do is sophisticated and time consuming. I support you in principle and will continue to do so and hope you'll get enough financial incentive to make male on male animations and meshes that enhance the experience. I trust things will turn around. Either way know that your work is important and there are those of us who love what you've accomplished.
