Hello everyone! I had a crazy art block, so I decided to draw outside of my comfort zone. I chose a RISO print swatch of colors and went to town with some concepts.
These were all done within 4-6 hours. Mostly in between other work and in my down time. I think all of these qualify as finished pieces, but for the most part I consider them color studies/ sketches.
What I realized is border between really gruesome dark art, and very chill art is thin! It was difficult getting out of my negative headspace, but the results were fun. I think with more time, detail, and better concepting this could be a full fledged style of its own.
The piece I like the most is the deer and the moon. It feels the most complex and playful. That particular color combination also feels like a very solid choice. If I were to do a series of pieces like this I would probably choose to do something in the style of this particular piece.
I often think about starting a second page for art like this, but I have so many projects that I try and prioritize everything with the red black and white work first. Maybe I'll incorperate it on main at some point, but until then I will continue to post my color work here for your consideration.
I am thinking of a huge figure drawing dump here next (maybe 25-50 poses?). I found a youtube channel that has rotating models, and I have been dying to draw some figure studies. I've been meaning to draw some nude figures of all shapes, sizes, and varieties, so this would be a great place to start archiving them.
Let me know what you think or if you have any ideas for anything in this style.
