2026-02-25 23:23:07 +0000 UTCI've always enjoyed Season 1. Are there a few episodes I skip on rewatching? Yes, but that's true every season. Don't get me wrong, I think Seasons 2 and 3 are the best seasons of the show. But Season 1 has a lot of fire episodes as well.

Sheโs actually quite smart and funny... but sheโs also a natural bully and she is going to piss you off a lot. But character growth is wonderful to see as a viewer so I get why she is a fan favorite.

The Witch is such a strong episode from beginning to end. Im happy that you're enjoying the show. ๐ And yes, season one has always been amazing. My personal favorite season of the show

2025-07-29 02:04:25 +0000 UTCThis is definitely one of my fave episodes from season 1. I was very impressed that you figured out the twist so fast. It's a genuinely creepy take on the cheerleader mom/peaked in high school storyline, not that it's not creepy enough irl lol. I think the feedback you're hearing from BtVS fans about season 1 is just more people being anxious that reactors will watch some of the cheesier season 1 eps and give up on what is such a great show. Season one isn't terrible at all; it's great world building for the show & I think the monster of the week format that they're doing in this season is a really good way to explore it. That said, the way this show is going to develop I really think is going to blow your mind.

To borrow from this episode, you are allowing me to revisit my initial excitement when I live watched the entire series. Possibly the only other older show that gives me the same reaction when someone watches for the first time is Misfits.

Iโm sure youโll see what folks mean about Season 2 and beyond, but I agree with youโSeason 1 is kind of great for what it is. Youโve keyed into exactly what Buffy is about already: using these experiences in this evil/supernatural world to address all the issues that surround growing up. It really is smart storytelling. Itโs kind of neat that youโve gone through the truncated Firefly journey already (gone too soon ๐ซ), and that youโre picking up on some of the storytelling similarities.
