PDF / EPUB versions
Added 2019-12-07 10:59:46 +0000 UTCHey, as mentioned in 374 a quick poll in regards to pdfs and epubs. You can choose more than one option. 5$ up in case of spoilers.

Instead of doing the epub for each chapter, can you simply create an up to date epub that contains all the previous chapters as well? It would make it easier to catch up.

2019-12-25 22:09:32 +0000 UTCThat was the same for the reader I tested but some others don't report this issue. Seems to be a reader thing. Could you try a different one and let me know if it's the same?

2019-12-10 12:19:19 +0000 UTCI agree, having an epub update periodically would be awesome.

2019-12-08 00:18:44 +0000 UTCEpub and PDF for every chapter sounds like a lot of not so useful work for you. However, a complete (to date) EPUB made every few months would be kind of nice (I usually just use a Royal Road to EPUB program when I want to read webfiction on my kindle).

2019-12-07 20:04:03 +0000 UTCSmh no representation for the plop, plip, plop, plip. Everyone only cares about plip, plop, plip, plop
2019-12-07 19:05:18 +0000 UTCI like either or of the file options for two reasons. 1) My file readers for both formats have blessed dark mode and Patreon does not. 2) Formatting. Patreon sucks at formatting, epubs,PDFs, and Royal Road all display Stat Blocks and System Messages better.

2019-12-07 18:40:32 +0000 UTCThe PDFs are fine but I read on the app and if you put the documents on a chapter it always drags the page down to the bottom even when the screen goes off for a little while. Maybe make a separate post?

2019-12-07 17:22:51 +0000 UTCI like how many of us went with an answer that shows how little we care about the original question :)

2019-12-07 16:20:57 +0000 UTCl prefer something with a dark mode. The best case would be a pw protected WordPress site.
2019-12-07 15:37:58 +0000 UTCyeah, especially if you can't read the whole chapter in one go. every time I open a patreon chapter with files tacked on, it scrolls to the bottom on activating the screen. Not the author's fault, just an annoying patreon mechanic, but that's my reason for not wanting the files at the same time as the regular chapter.

2019-12-07 15:26:58 +0000 UTCThe epubs seems to have all of the words underlined. Could you fix that?

2019-12-07 14:53:48 +0000 UTCI appreciate the pdfs/epub! Much easier to read on the kindle.

2019-12-07 14:41:08 +0000 UTCI mostly read this story on royalroad because it keeps track of where I was etc, but it doesn’t show me the chapters for my Patreon level, so...

2019-12-07 14:28:05 +0000 UTCI usually read the new chapters in my email with my phone. The less work you have to do other then writing, the better IMO, simply because any additional tedious tasks leads to burnout quicker.

2019-12-07 14:14:33 +0000 UTCI actually really dislike the files option. Makes it harder to read on mobile phones

2019-12-07 14:10:23 +0000 UTCI think having a .pdf or .epub roll up every 10 or 20 chapters is fine, doing it every time is nice but not really needed and the patreon posts are good enough for reading new chapters.

2019-12-07 13:35:14 +0000 UTCInstead of doing purely joke options, if you want jokes have the real options include them. "Who needs epubs? Give me pdf's!"

2019-12-07 13:27:10 +0000 UTCI think the thing that takes the LEAST extra work to do, for maximum writing time.

2019-12-07 13:03:27 +0000 UTCwhat you gotta do is press on the chapter title that you're reading, then when you scroll to the end of the chapter, there are links to links to 3 chapters behind/ahead of the current one you're reading. Pretty much the same thing, just gotta click on the individual chapters instead of just expanding it

2019-12-07 12:56:05 +0000 UTCI read the Emails, epubs would be nice for the old chapters maybe in groups of 50 for when I re-read if it’s not a lot of work

2019-12-07 12:54:18 +0000 UTCThe epubs are nice but I mostly read in the web browsers using the reading mode to make it readable on mobile.
2019-12-07 12:46:01 +0000 UTCI think you need a wordpress blog. Like wandering inn, patreon is hard to read on mobile for me. Epub does the job. But a blog would be more helpful for you in the long run.

2019-12-07 12:30:59 +0000 UTCWhat I miss most is a link to the next chapter. I feel this is something that should be built into Patreon though. Maybe especially since I read on phone, so the infinite scroll sometimes gets reloaded from scratch and it’s a true pain getting back to where you were.

2019-12-07 12:16:33 +0000 UTCSave me the hassle of doing it myself

2019-12-07 12:08:09 +0000 UTCI think you should bundle chapters and then release those as files

2019-12-07 11:42:35 +0000 UTCWhile I mostly read through the emails that Patreon send out, I do like the files. That said, I think I would like them even more if I only got them once a wweek but they then included the chapters from the entire week so I didn't have to bother with so many small files.

2019-12-07 11:14:27 +0000 UTCI prefer epub over pdf as it gives a better reading experience on my iphone and ipad compared to pdf. However, I did vote for both epub and pdf as you never know what ppl prefer and its good to have options. although making both may take a lot of time and effort, you can always start with one and do the other one afterwards.
