OVERVIEW:

Life has many roads, it's easy to get lost. Noah was lucky, though. He was happy with the road he was on. Not many find theirs at twenty-three, but he was sure he had. But as life tends to do, things change, and he suddenly finds himself pushed onto a road he'd never seen coming.

But sometimes, an unexpected pivot can be a good thing.

Now, he spends his nights tending bar and trying to get his fledgling band off the ground, bonding with his friends, and exploring the world filled with alcohol, drugs, sex, and rock n' roll.

Will he find fame and fortune, or will he stay in obscurity? Will he experience true love or indulge in hedonistic lust? Whatever happens, you can find it all behind the doors of The Hellcat Lounge.

That's the original description, but in many ways, it's so much more... and quite a bit less.

The best way to explain the game is as a slice-of-life game that moves through eight or so people's experiences that intertwine throughout one summer.

See, that sounds less sexy than the above, but it's the execution that'll get you.

It's got funny bits, sad bits, and all the bits in between. The choices all have consequences, leading to completely different outcomes immediately and in the long term. And in what is one of its stupidest, most ingenious moves, it's probably one of the first 'one-render per click' AVNs. The idea is to put more 'show, don't tell' into an Adult Visual Novel and more quotation marks in the explanation. I'm pretty sure that means I win.

Long story short, if you'd like a game with lower-middle-class characters, not jet-setting in expensive cars and flying around the world, this might be the game for you. If you don't like more than one character in the game, being 'the one with tattoos,' this might not be the game for you. But I still think you should try it. Because it's more than either of those things... and quite a bit less.

But in a good way.

Personal Notes:

WilsonWonka has set their "The Hellcat Lounge" on its third installment - [Version 0.3.33], giving you substantial gameplay. I am one of the witnesses of Wilson's dedication to their work, but in a non-biased comment, I think it has one of the best, if not the best, DAZ renders out there. This is not to say that their animation is also top-notch, featuring Puggy as their animator.

I am a massive fan of these chads, and I can't recommend this game enough!
