Rainy Day (preview)

Hello everyone!

Still swamped with work so it's been a slow month making tunes. But I thought I'd show you guys what I'm working on. It's a song made only out of samples from the king of sound effects: Michael Winslow. It's a VERY rough cut, but I hope you guys like it so far!

Thank you so much for your support and your patience and I hope that you are all well!

Played this vid for my mom last week. Watching her eyes light up when she recognized scenes was great and I thank you

I had to join the Patreon after Rainy Day and Maybe You Shouldn’t Be Living Here! I said most of what I’ll say here in the comment section, but felt a bit embarrassed so I may end up deleting it but wanted to repeat it here. Also I’ve noticed long YouTube comments sometimes become less visible due to the highly questionable alignment of some automated censorship techniques that are designed to curtail vitriolic discourse on the platform, but usually just annoy people with a propensity to become hyper verbal like myself. Anyway…. I think you have helped introduce me to my new favorite “genre” of music. I’ve seen it executed to varying levels of excellence around the web or on albums as I explore music libraries, and you are without a doubt the best I’ve found (certainly the most prolific). The very specific “genre” if it can be called that- is taking audio segments that intentionally or not, have very subtle musical qualities to them, and then building a song around them with as little alteration as possible- does that have a name- because I LOVE it and you are great at it! I know “songifying” has a long history in memes, but it usually makes heavy use of auto-tune or Melodyne or other tools to kind of force the tune. Obviously some of your work has done that too- and I still like it, but a lot of your work does not- and it feels distinct and awesome to me. I know that incorporating vocal samples has been around forever, and I like that too but that also feels different from what you often do. There is something distinctly impressive, incredible, and fun to me about what you do. The artistry of hearing subtle musical elements in dialogue, locking it in your memory, then crafting music around it with as few alterations as possible- not to mention while usually also layering in some other stylistic limitations (like sourcing from a single scene, video, movie, or actor, etc.) WHILE usually incorporating interesting, complementary visuals or even crafting a loose narrative goes WAY beyond just songification in my mind, and absolutely blows me away. I know I have very bizarre taste in things, so it is probably odd to hear this is maybe my favorite use of musical talent ever, but it is. The Columbo stuff got me hooked, but I’ve loved seeing you not feel limited to specific fandoms or sources, just making whatever makes you happy. I’m so grateful that you have scratched a very specific, extremely niche musical itch I never knew I had. I find myself even getting motivated to learn music editing software to try my hand at songifying the “musical dialogue” I’ve heard- but that feels like a lot of effort and maybe largely unnecessary when you keep churning out jams like this. Sorry to gush like a fanboy, but man I love this stuff and am grateful I’m able to support it for a while, because I know it probably doesn’t have a huge audience but I love it! Thanks again!

Hah that's a great idea though! Adding that to the to-do list. And thanks :)

Thank you kindly! Glad you think so :) Hoping to have it done by sometime next week

Noiselund

this is amazing! 😄

Rudolf Rohaczek

Mistook him for Karl Winslow at first. Still on the fence if I'm disappointed or not (not).

Bill Wilson

That is fantastic, can't wait to see the finished version!
