Sky Pride Vol. 5 Epilogue I- The King of Hell and his Book Carrying Servant

Comments

That's a really fun twist on breathing mortal air.

Sean Shivers

After all the immortals faffing about not knowing what to do we get a breath of fresh air with Hanshen laying down the law. He doesn’t play

Evan

He didnt change, he was activated. This is what he was trained for since he was little. The reason he was different in the other chapters was because he was only playing the part of eunuch and civil servant. The last chapter of the last book, the King/Emperor activated him. I can't remember what his position was called though.

Endgame

In feudal Japan, ninjas and samurai police used hollowed-out eggshells, known as happō, to store and disburse blinding powders, a technique categorized under metsubushi (eye-closers). I always loved how inventive these times were.

Endgame

It could be seen as filial to his ancestors who would no doubt what to see the lineage of the family continued rather than ending in a foolish rebellion against the noble family that they had no hope in winning after that duel…

Monday :(

Chapter tomorrow or Monday?

Diarmuid McGinnity

I wouldn't say stronger or weaker but maybe closer to heavenly and earthly. The heavenly immortal brother can see Merit and Sin while the earthly mortal brother can determine truth from lies.

Zadumu

Tftc!

So Little Han is the half brother of Little Treasure? Or the other kid on the mountain (I forgot his name). Interesting how Starseive didn't pick him up, with his special ability

EvilLittleThing

This Jin boy lie detector will hopefully have some fun interactions with our metaphor allergic Tian

BaguaBrady

I'm bad at remembering Chinese names, so I didn't actually remember who this was until Ren called him Eunuch, then I was like: Damn, you've changed, dude, farmed a little aura there, buddy?

Zenopath (AEV)

Hanshen is the enuch that traveled with Tian, Hong and little treasure for a while. The mute servant boy is a bastard with the Jin bloodline, which involves being able to tell truth from lie. Hanshen is teaching him because with little treasure being a cultivator, the Jin are without a direct heir, so there's good chance a bastard with the bloodline is legitimized. And if he isn't, raising someone with a bloodline like that to be righteous is very in character for Hanshen. The merchant was some sort of corrupt clan head, and Hanshen was doing his Emperor mandated, Heavenly backed job of killing them all and letting the Dao sort it out. The old guy was a mortal martial expert

João Vene

Can someone explain who these people are? I feel like I should know them, but I have the memory of a goldfish.

zombie

Yes, a ghost king chapter please, Warby.

Robert Mullins

Good volume. I wonder what the ghost king is up to

Alex

He didn't fight a cultivator. He fought a martial artist. Think Wuxia/JiangHu.

Robert Mullins

There was like...a fate dragon branding thing that happened, i assume thats why Hanshen can fight with cultivators now?

Gardor

Hard. Core.

Steve Wright

yea think so too....from wikipedia: Diting (Chinese: 谛听; pinyin: Dìtīng; Vietnamese: Đế Thính) is a divine mythical creature and the steed of bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha in Chinese Buddhism. One interpretation of its single horn was that it could receive information across the universe. It could also be used to attack and defend. Its hound ears were like a universal radio, transmitting the ability to distinguish good from bad to all believers. ie a living lie detector and able to tell the "bad guys" from the" good guys" as well. Little Treasure has this ability, however his is imo Significantly Stronger; he can see the Merit or Sin of a person/Place/Thing

Len

Great chapter. But a suspicious lack of the letters T & L. And it just occurred to me that this is the end of the book. That makes sense now.

JTP

Diting, maybe?
