Animal Star Chapters 1 & 2 Excerpt, Recent Art, Stream Announcement

Hello everyone! First off I wanted to apologize for my silence here. Life's been hectic, and I've been struggling to get my footing with work. To be perfectly frank (which I truly do not like to be), my income with Paranatural and creative work in general has dipped to the point where it's not viable as a career; I've been trying to figure out what I can do next or to improve this, but I have a ways to go. It goes without saying that your support has been and will continue to be vital in the meantime, and I will do everything I can to earn it here and elsewhere!

That being said, I have a bunch of cool stuff to share with you today! Work on the Paranatural book has frozen due to the aforementioned reasons, but I'm looking to get back to it this month, and the illustrations above are from that effort. And a design for Max's sphinx is there as well, sans ominous shadow!

The rest of the above art is all Animal Star design work. My most recent direction with this world I've been turning over in my head for years is a radically different one, largely inspired by how much fun I've had doing Paranatural as illustrated prose. I am writing an Animal Star fantasy novel! This has been one of my ideas for a direction my career might go in, so hopefully I'll have more of that to share here soon.

Attached to this post is a big excerpt from what I've written so far, the first two chapters of Animal Star! This is a rough draft, of course, but I would love if you all gave it a read and let me know if you enjoyed it! I've put a lot of work into it so far and I'm planning to put a lot more in, too. 

Finally, for $10+ patrons, I have a lot of ground to cover in terms of missed streams, for which I am very sorry! For now, the next stream will be this Saturday, the 16th, at 2:00PM PT/5:00 EST! I'll be taking sketch requests and answering your questions—and I can maybe read a little bit of Animal Star then, too? We'll play it by ear, and try to do more streams this month to make up for lost time!
