π«ΆGeoff has such a great sound. I love his tone above the very lowest of low notes. And I do enjoy his gentleness here. All flowers to him for making these public. You can tell heβs thought a lot about how to do the song, and includes some more unusual choices. ππ½ππ½ππ½ My fav version of βBlackbirdβ is this one from totally amateur high schooler Emma Stevens. Itβs sung in Miβkmaq. This too is a gentle version. No theatrics at all. But Sir Paul loved it so much he invited her and her music teacher (whoβs playing guitar on the audio track) to his concert and gave them a shout out from the stage. https://youtu.be/99-LoEkAA3w Iβm not a singer, so I didnβt understand the transition was such a tough this. I thought it was just croaky old me. π Tim Foust says sliding through oneβs whole range is something he encourages bass singers to do. Maybe itβs easier for these guys. Thanks for the reaction. Iβm here because I like the detailed analysis.
