2025-10-03 15:38:24 +0000 UTCRegarding Araragi "regretting meeting Hanekawa", the thing he regrets, is that Hanekawa, while saving him from suicide, also made things way more complicated and harder to deal with. She "ruthlessly" pointed out uncomfortable truths, which Araragi loves to look away from. She ruined his entire atonement narrative during Kizu. If it wasn't for her, he either would've "atoned" for everything by killing himself or killing Kiss-Shot during their final confrontation. He still holds a grudge against Hanekawa for that. Of course, he also values her greatly for pretty much the same reasons. It's like two ideas clashing in his mind, and his view of Hanekawa reflects that inner conflict. That's why his opinion of her seems so contradictory. I also love this ED to death. Very nostalgia-inducing, especially the lyrics. Had a chance to listen to it live recently, which was really fun.
