The show totally WAS implying it and wanted you to think that Ougi was the Darkness. If it hadn't been, that line of her denying it wouldn't be effective, or even make sense.

2025-11-02 08:26:34 +0000 UTCWe edited today the final 2 episodes of Shinobu Time for youtube, and i saw the multiple time the phrase "laws of the universe" was mentioned, and how she described herself so, at that point im partially convinced she is, very smart foreshadowing too if that's the case. In this episode, she calls herself the "laws of the universe". I don't think hearing that and theorizing she's the Darkness is far-fetched. She also mentions that she might ask Araragi for help someday. Seems like that day has finally come. Regarding the conversation about righteousness, Ougi is making the distinction between doing the right thing, and correcting wrongdoings. She argues that by trying to do the right thing, you'll end up making mistakes along the way, and it will all "balance out to zero". In order to be truly righteous, you need to correct mistakes. Be the enemy of evil instead of an ally of justice. Araragi brings this distinction up when he's walking through hell with Hachikuji. I recommend rewatching that part. It's the 1st episode, around the 19-minute mark.

2025-10-17 17:02:52 +0000 UTCLmao I was the opposite, I CANNOT take ougi seriously this whole arc, since the DATE IS SO GOATED. Honestly the date hits me hard af. 1. We are starving for senjougahara and araragi, the author really let us be dehydrated out in the desert and gave us this oasis right near the end. The way that he manages to keep their personality and sharp tounge intact and yet balanced it off with the romantic vibe fitting for a date. Masterclass. 2. I personally am so tired of watching the japanese traditional values of using first names as a sign of deeper intimacy. Like I've seen it enough that it's becoming a joke in my head alongside handholding and indirect kisses. But seeing senjougahara, with all her personality and smartness, tried to use all those tricks on him telling him that it'll be a lewd request, only for settling on calling each other with their first names for the rest of their life as they kiss under that beautifull sunset. Bro this hits hard.
