Mushoku Tensei Episode 6 Reaction

Comments

Raiden is a character from an 80s fighting manga, he was the character that did all the exposition on things ... Rifujin (the Mushoku Tensei author) loves using references to very random stuff.

About the "physically" part. Greyrats are extremely highly ranked nobles, hence why they command whole regions, if you remember the bandit in the previous episode said "can't we do with just the boy?" ... that's because Rudy is Paul's son, Paul was the heir of the Notos Greyrat branch, but he ran away from home. Rudy could literally march in his uncle's house, claim he's here to get back his title as the head of the branch, kill his uncle and nobody would bat an eye.

In the last episode Rudy realised how easily he can be killed, watching someone die in front of him and realising he can be killed and it's game over for him, that's what shocked him, he doesn't think he has blood on his hands, the blood was from the body that dropped right in front of him, the bandit's head was blown off, pretty gruesome thing to see right in front of you right?

I'm also a big fan of mommy- oops, I mean Ghislaine lol

About the difference between magic and (sword) fighting: it's not explained in the anime, but in the novel it is, so I will fill the gap for you. I feel this is an important detail but they left it out of the anime. IIRC Paul explains this to him when he trains him. So, basically fighters also use magic, but in a different way. If you want to become a good fighter, you need to "cover" yourself in your "aura" to boost your physical capabilities (which is literally just a different application of innate magic power - Rudeus realized this immediately, but the people of this world aren't aware of that). But it is something that you can only really do instictually, if you don't have the capability then no matter how much you train, it won't help you. You might become a better swordsman in terms of technique, but you will literally be unable to compete in terms of power and speed. Of course even if you can do it, you still need to train and become better - it's not like a cheat or anything. And no, Rudeus can't do it. He figured that out while he was still at home (which they also didn't mention in the anime ^^). So, Rudeus knows he will never be better in terms of strength than a beginner swordsman, but he trains anyway because it's a) good exercise b) technique is still very important On a side note: as long as you have the required mana (which not everybody does) anyone can theoretically become a mage, unlike with aura which cannot be taught.

Lmao, as i grew up in a small town we know up until our 5th 6th cousins, but it's not even about it being medically bad, as much as people don't do that as it is just "weird" cause we grow up calling each other cousins, and it wouldn't cross people's minds at all. It is a cultural difference indeed.

Ur right, it didn't cross my mind at all, children do tend to do that, but obv we see it through a diff pov as we can hear his inner voice, which kind of manipulates the perspective.

Yep there might be some lingering trauma from getting beat up in his past life, but also he just has the personality type that only seems to excel in things he is actually interested in.

Not trying to defend it, the boob grab is way inappropriate no matter how you spin it. However, the way I see it this scene was more of him trying to "get back" at her more so than his sexual gratification. Believe it or not kids DO touch each other inappropriately as a prank or to be annoying long before they understand what it means, whether it's through mimicking what they see adults do or just ignorance. He knew she was going to wake up, that was his whole purpose of going there to find her in the first place. Instead he got carried away and paid the price for it. It's an important lesson in boundaries and respect that most people go through as children, a lesson he must need to either relearn or learn for the first time. This is why I say the debate of whether or not hes an adult in a child's body or a child with memories of an adult is more nuanced than most people seem to think. Take out the creepy inner voice and just imagine it was a mischievous brat pulling a prank on his friend and the scene is still believable. He does things that a child does, but then there are instances where he makes things worse and is just despicable. He's an interesting and controversial character

So, there's a few different branches of the "Greyrat" family - if you remember Eris called herself "Eris Boreas Greyrat" whereas Paul is from the Notos branch - Paul Notos Greyrat. I won't give further specifics on that - but one of Paul's parents was a sibling of Sauros which makes Paul and Philip first cousins, Rudy and Philip second cousins, and Eris is Rudy's second cousin, once removed. Interestingly, it's actually legal to marry your second cousin in the US even in modern day. Second cousins share a much more distant scientifically when it comes to common ancestry than first cousins so the risk of passing on genetic disorders is barely higher than that for unrelated individuals. A lot of culture's don't have as deep (as far as familial depth) of relationships with their extended family to the point where you may not even know that someone is your cousin or not when first getting to know them (like you Nessa).

His physical capabilities are just him being a kid, and I guess the fact it doesn’t come naturally to him. It was far easier to learn magic because it was naturally more exciting. Like I think it mostly boils down to how much time there is in a day, and how serious he is about learning the sword. He does train but he flinches because it’s natural to flinch, especially when your body tells you your opponent is faster or stronger than you.

Was just about to comment on episode 5, but yeah another example of Rudy technically being the age of his new life is the fact he learns really fast, just like kids do. Even though he has the inner voice and memories of his past life, he’s still (for the most part) very present and acclimated in his new life. His body still has to learn how to do things he used to know how to do, so it’s still a fresh experience for him.

Get out of town 😂
