Yeah you guys got it completely! Part of moving on, or growing up in this case, is to be willing to accept and carry regrets with you instead of burying them.

In that final scene, when Senjou grabs his hand and jumps forward, he says "not like a kangaroo, like a frog", and I always wondered wtf did he mean by that. But I think it's a wordplay (one of the millions in Monogatari): Kangaroo sounds very similar to 考える (kangaeru), that is the term for "to think about something, to ponder"; moreover, the term for "frog" (蛙) and the term for "to change, to transform" (変える) are homophones - both are pronounced "kaeru". Considering the context of the scene, which is clearly he making a metaphor about his insecurities for the future - sometimes he overthinks so much that the anxiety freezes him in place and prevents him to take the next step, when he says "not like a kangaroo, like a frog", is supposed to be something along the lines of jumping into the future "not thinking too much, but constantly transforming/changing". And it's cute that, as Nesa mentioned, Senjou is the one that drags him along into that future (and I noticed that she even crouches down like a frog to jump in that scene lol). Just a small piece of info that I haven't seen people mention before, and makes me wonder the amount of wordplay of this kind that I missed throughout the whole series - probably thousands 😭 PS: Nesa mentioned at some point during the reactions that she wanted to see the story of Kaiki and the whole crew back in college days. Well, your prayers were heard. The latest book in the series, that was released about two months ago, has Meme narrating the story of the Occult Research Club back in the days, when they created Ononoki. Hopefully someday we get an anime adaptation of that story too :)
