You've been given a fun few fun facts for this episode. Spotting some recognisable imagery from John Smith's journal is part of those fun call backs. Did your friend point out the classic references in their too. One of the pages had some of the previous faces of The Doctor too. As we go along, knowing some of them will be a little more beneficial. I'd even recommend the odd Classic Who story as a way of enhancing certain appreciations for the history of the show. When those times are right, of course. I'd never make the case for absolutely essential viewing. But as you have delved into the whole of TW. Which is pretty irrelevant, narratively speaking for Who, for the most part. But you are getting a lot out of that, so that's great. So in my mind, it makes a pretty good case for the odd Classic Who snippet, given that is actually the same show. Arguably the first instance of this, would be beneficially viewed some time between now and near the end of series 4. PM me if your interest is piqued.

Series 3 in general is in my top 3 and these next few episodes really pop off! I can't wait for you to see the rest, it's so good!
