here is my timed reaction to doctor who season 3 episode 9 "the family of blood"
i LOVED this two parter!!!! it was gut wrenching, heart breaking and i also just LOVED baines (or "the brother") character!

Perhaps one of a few episodes which perfectly encapsulates how This Doctor frames what sort of a man this version of them is, at the point of their inception. "No second chances, I'm that sort of a man" Donna was there last time to tell him to stop. It would appear he might have momentarily shaken Martha off to punish these transgressors for their crimes. Thank you for highlighting the ending, it's my belief that The Doctor took nurse Redferns words to heart about choosing 1913 and therefore bringing destruction, so he chooses to give Tim the Watch. Prior to meeting The Doctor I think Tim & Hutchinson would've died during the war(a fixed point in time, a bit like how Rose's dad dies) but the Doctor chose to save Tim and he's able to live a life the war denied so many people
