So true on all counts. I've been rediscovering these and it feels oddly enough like I'm rediscovering myself in the process. Optimism that was stolen the same way Rory was. It might be bittersweet, but for me, it's the transition from bitter to sweet again. There are so many worse ways to do that than with these characters and a good reactor. Stay strong, stay you, that's what I learned once from this show, this truly is helping me learn it again. We're all being turned into Ambroses. She immediately tried to help Allaya, who egged her on again. Things are no different. If this helps, it's doing what it set out to do. <3 The doctor showed her forgiveness; show yourself some too, OK? Desperation does this to anyone and everyone. Remember these stories all the more for it. Hugs, A real life Amy (god that can be confusing sometimes watching this)

yes, her trying to hold onto rory's memory was a really emotional scene. it was all happening so fast that i didn't mention it but it made me think about how when you lose a loved one unfortunately over time you begin to lose things like details of their looks or the way their voice sounds, and that was happening to amy just so fast

The silurian makeup is phenomenal! I love it when they fully commit to prosthetics, I can’t imagine how long that took. I always cry when Amy is trying not to forget Rory. It’s such a unique scene because this isn’t even about saving him. This is about preserving his memory, a refusal to relinquish the experience of grieving the man she loves. Sigh. This is a tough story. I feel like it came out at a much more optimistic time so watching it, I did have a sense of “hey what if, maybe we could be the best of ourselves in this kind of situation.” I’m just so much more jaded nowadays. Grim. Could we land a mass integration program? Now, no. But I guess ask me in 1000 years. If we have that long. The Doctor makes me want to believe though. And I suppose wanting to believe the world can be better is usually the first step to getting there. Therein lies the true power of sci-fi TV.

Finally caught up after recently joining. One of the reasons this Dr is my favourite is because of his theme tune. Murray Gold the composer writes theme tunes for every single Dr and companion that play in the background of important moments for their character (I notice you notice Martha's tune when she appeared last season). There's something about the 11th Doctor's theme that's just so heroic and dramatic. I think those words summarize this Doctor very well especially dramatic. I'm honestly in awe how Murray Gold can so well encapsulate characters with music without lyrics. You can listen to various companion's themes and easily see ah yep this is Donna definitely just by music alone. I would urge you to look up the companion's themes and listen to them and see what you think however this would probably end up in future companions being spoilt as one may pop up being recommended so maybe not haha. Anyway sorry for blagging on the music is one of the things I love the most about Dr Who so I'm quite passionate about it. Glad to join your community! :)
