Having guessed who River 'might' be, at the beginning of the series, I was on a slightly smug high after Ep7. 😏 Then this one blindsided me right up until Mel's said her parents were right there. Even with all the glaringly obvs signposted clues. 🤣 Honestly, I thought they might wait a bit until continuing the River saga. At first I thought this was fun distracting deviation, and just wasn't paying anywhere near enough attention. Considering why, I'd thought what I had, I should have been right on this character lore development. Always fun to be surprised though. It's actually way more satisfying that way.
