Any Mac OS users available for testing?
Added 2023-03-01 16:25:51 +0000 UTCI would like to have a working version of HIAW for Mac OS. RPG maker games don't work on Mac for any version past and including Big Sur 11 so building a Mac version that most users can't use and more will lose access to over time seems pointless.
My current thinking is emulation. Currently I use Bluestacks to emulate android on my PC, that's how I test those builds, and I recently found out that it works on Mac as well. I was hoping that someone has a mac and is willing to download blue stacks and the android version of the game to test it out there to see if that works. Its not as good as a standalone version but if that works consistently then I can that that as instructions for Mac users.
So yeah if you have a Mac and some free time please give that a go and let me know if it works, it would be really helpful to me :)
Thanks
Jong

I've had the most success building games for MacOS and Windows using MZ on a Mac. I realize that's not very helpful if you don't have a Mac - sorry. I found MV to be unreliable for cross platform. I've never tried to build for Android on MV or MZ. I only did Android work for my job. I'm an iDevice guy.

2023-03-02 10:08:16 +0000 UTCI've switched over to MZ and don't use MV at all anymore, so I didn't notice any problems during my last couple of OS upgrades.

2023-03-02 02:28:56 +0000 UTCI tried re-enabling SIP after I got HIAW working in Bluestacks and Bluestacks stopped working. I know that some folks keep SIP disabled on their systems, but it has some useful protections that I prefer to keep.

2023-03-02 02:26:49 +0000 UTCI tried Nox, KO Player and AR Chon. Nox and KO Player need SIP disabled. I couldn't get the AR Chon extension to install in Chrome. I also tried Android Studio (I did a little Android development several years ago). It works without disabling SIP. But (as you probably know) it's even more complex than disabling SIP and too much for most users to deal with.

2023-03-02 02:21:47 +0000 UTCThank you for checking! Hmm that sucks, do you know of any other andriod emulators that might work for mac? I don't know the specifics about why it doesn't work but the official line from RPGmaker is that MV will not work on Mac versions after Big Sur https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/blog/regarding-future-rpg-maker-mv-macos-support . MZ still works though

2023-03-01 22:23:40 +0000 UTCYou probably already know that Bluestacks doesn't currently support MacOS Monterey & Ventura. I tried it on my Intel Mac running Ventura and Bluestacks won't run unless SIP is disabled, which is going to be a showstopper for most people. The "allow" option does not appear in the system settings on Ventura, like it did in previous versions of MacOS.

2023-03-01 21:54:17 +0000 UTCI'm downloading Bluestacks now and will give it a try. I'm curious about the RPG Maker issues. I've created simple RGP Maker MV and MZ games on my Mac using Monterey, then run them under Monterey and Ventura. Are your problems due to the complexity of HIAW or maybe some plug-ins?
