Following on from the last devlog, I have revamped two early game quests; Saving the cat from the warehouse and chasing the horse in the desert. Neither of these had much story or interesting things to do, I guess chasing the horse was unique but I think people found it a bit annoying rather than fun, at least that's the impression I got. Now they should both be a lot more funny and memorable

Doing a first run through of the new content at the moment, checking the main quest works and filling out the first draft of the scenes. Once that's done the next big task is filling out the new town you explore, filling it with people and adding quests.

I'm currently looking for artists to work with on the in game collectable cards I want to add. I talked about doing this with Starli, but I think it would take too much time away from the main art, which to me is more important.

This is a little side rant, but it's crazy how much money steam takes from developers. 30% is a huge cut! Plus there's lots of other little fee and bits that really knock down what they give you in the end, and then the government takes what's left. Like on Itch I pay 5% and that's optional, On GoG I think it's something like 2%. You already pay to list games on steam, I feel like they should take a much smaller cut until your game gets to a certain size. It just seems cruel on indie publishers. Steam is a numbers game I guess, you don't make much on an individual sale, but it has the potential to become massive and drive way more traffic than anywhere else.

Spent some time in the last week working on mods. For some reason every game I make mods for all released a new update in the same week, don't know if I missed out on the memo or what.

In my down time I've been playing Balatro, that shit is addictive. I've got it locked so I can't play it during the day as I know it would distract me!
