Dangerous Romance - Episode 2 Early Access

Well I definitely did not enjoy the last scene the way I was supposed to. Like yeah Kang is starting to see the light but that does not change the fact that he initially came with the intent to try and hurt Sailom and the pedo rumour really REALLY pissed me off along with everything else he has done. i just really hope he apologises (to Sailom and his friends especially the friend he physically assaulted) and try to fix the sht he's done very early and not close to the ending cause the impact will be too little and less sincere since it looks like they might start getting along in the next episode.

In addition to what Monica said, about how Kang was upset seeing Sailom in such a weak state after him being so tough all the time at school, I saw another comment on YouTube that had an additional explanation which I also found compelling, which was that Kang realized that Sailom was put in that position by him, thanks to him causing Sailom to lose his tutoring clients, and his insistence on cheating and trying to show Sailom he could "buy" him leading to Sailom returning the money he received from Kang's grandmother. Those guys showed up and Sailom didn't have as much money as he should have had to try to appease them until his brother could pay the rest. Kang thinks of money as a way to get anything he wants. For Sailom money is life or death. I did believe that that scene was enough to cause Kang to have a change of heart, though I think they should have made Sailom look even more beaten up (just a comment on the makeup/choreography of those guys beating him, not Chimon's acting) to justify Kang's immediate protectiveness and frankly, bravery, using the bullet-less gun like that. Bullies and bravery don't generally go hand-in-hand. I guess I just thought the bad guys were really taking their time with the threat of the iron and not looking like they were really hitting him as hard as they could have, etc, like they were waiting for Perth to arrive. I also don't know if they picked the very best clips to show what was running through Kang's head for me to really follow the direction his thoughts were taking as he had his epiphany. But overall, yes, I buy that he might react protectively seeing one of his classmates in legitimate danger of being killed or horribly burned and injured, and then comforting him as he cried. The combination of this and his grandmother being angry with him will definitely change him somewhat. I hope he is still a bit of a jerk for a while, being a spoiled rich brat at least, even if he is trying to improve, because it's going to be too fast if he's like, sweet already next episode. Ooh, I just wondered if maybe seeing those guys could have reminded him of anything else, like his dad beating him, or violently threatening other people in Kang's presence during his rise to power in business and politics. I know there has been no indication of that, and the grandmother wouldn't allow it if she knew, but I really have trouble believing Kang could be as bad of a bully as he was without some worse treatment from his father than we've seen so far. 🤔

The writing and acting on this series is very, very good so far... I love how the way Kang's bullying antics always gets thwarted in the end by Sailom... And grandma is the real MVP of this episode!!! That last scene at Sailom's house is genius writing... Kang having a flashback of all the horrible things that he did with Sailom but Sailom is being strong, witty and tough all those times... And now, Kang seeing Sailom in that vulnerable state connected something in him for some reason, making him want to protect and care him... I just hope that this character development will not go to waste in the next episode.

What is this sudden change of Kang’s feeling? Doesn’t make sense at all honestly to me. From bully to protector? What is this writing? I think they think this is enough for characters being bad. I also thought Kang’s character was too much but I wanted reasonable change.

Matthew Kang

Honestly i think the reason why Kang was so distraught at the last scene and might change his behaviour was not particularly because it was someone else doing it but more about Sailom's reaction, because up until this point Kang has always seen the "smartass, shit talking, always standing up for himself and his friends" version of Sailom and probably assumed he was a really strong person, because no matter how bad his bullying technique got, he would never see him back down, and that pissed him off so much. (hence the gun thing, because he's a jerk) So when he actually saw Sailom in that broken, traumatised state he probably realised he didn't like seeing him like that at all. But that's just what I think and maybe I'm totally wrong on this ahaha (also english isn't my first language so sorry if this isn't worded correctly😅)
