The car cost segment was insane. The worst part of the entire thing is that these kids (I'm such an old f-er) are paying north of $25k/year for two cars and when it all goes horribly wrong who will they blame?... oh that's right... Biden. Also, nearly 70% of all trips are less than 5 miles. They won't walk or bicycle those short distances because the sunk cost of car ownership is so high, why leave the $1400/month box in the driveway? "I'm payin for it so may as well drive it a block for the six pack of shit beer because that's all I can afford." This makes me so angry at what people accept as normal. Putting that monthly payment in VTSAX will allow them to quit working at least 15 years sooner. Is it that people are that bad at math or a they emotionally so fragile that they can't dare have their friends believe they are "poor"? Show your friends your monthly net worth statement and drive on (sorry for the pun). Lastly, I want to be positive... they have one year contracts ;)
