2022-03-30 09:50:14 +0000 UTCA big "what if" for alternatives to the slave trade outside of Britain winning the war would be if the Greeks (and Romans and others around the Mediterranean) realized what a big deal their little steam powered spinny toy was. even in slow motion compared to more modern times, an industrial revolution in 50 bce MAY have eliminated a lot of the horrors of slavery 1000-1500 years sooner than in our time.
