[3rd POV]

*Chiiiii~*

It sounded like the chirping of a thousand birds, a tune of terror, a song of death.

Tai Lung's body moved at the speed of lighting towards Kai. The enemy had no time to even think, much less react. The speed of lightning at such a close distance was instantaneous. Even the world couldn't register such speed.

He swiped at Kai without holding back. This time, he had every intention to kill and put a gashing hole to the enemy.

Kai was 12 feet - around twice the size of Tai Lung. But the impossibly thick muscles filling his frame made him weigh the same as an elephant. It was biologically impossible but Kai was above that - he was no longer mortal.

Even so, Kai was sent flying like a ragdoll. His body made of Jade muscles was not penetrated but the force behind the attack sent him crashing and bouncing off two mountains.

*BOOM!!*

*BOOM!!*

Kai released a grunt and his eyes glowed bright as he enhanced them with obscene amounts of chi just so he could keep up with the speed of Tai Lung.

The attack hit him harder than expected.

He knew just how powerful Tai Lung was from the memories of warriors he absorbed and from all of the stories. Yet when they fought, Tai Lung was stronger, faster and a little bit better in every noticeable aspects than he initially imagined.

Kai planted his feet and blade on the ground and slid to a stop. He firmly gripped the handle of his green blades and he blocked the second attack.

The clash sent a wave of force that dispersed all things. A moment of quiet persisted as they both stared into the eyes of each other before Tai Lung blurred again.

*CLASH!!!*

Kai had lived for thousands of years and spent most of his existence waging war and fighting battles, so he had great experience even though his actual kung fu knowledge was not as vast as Tai Lung.

The two met in 64 clashes in the span of one minute. Kai was pushed to his limits, taking different kinds of attacks Tai Lung threw at him.

Tai Lung's body blurred and left only a blue lightning trail in his wake. Kai's body emanated green smoke from the chi overflowing in his body and his healing factor. The sheer raw power his Jade Body held was heavy enough to leave a crater just from standing still.

"Enough!!" Kai said and stomped on the ground. The earth cried out as it shattered into pieces.

Tai Lung missed a step due to the destroyed earth and his body lost balance. He had to stop his movement to catch himself back on his feet.

That dramatic fall in speed was enough for Kai to launch his blades at him. The air exploded as green blades sliced thier way towards him.

He twisted his body and dodged the blades with minimal ease. But the thing he had not considered was the chain connecting the end of the weapons.

Kai grinned and channelling chi into the chains, he wrapped them around Tai Lung. With a roar, he threw the chains over his shoulder, catching Tai Lung and slamming his body against the ground.


That was not the end as Kai started spinning with the chains. Tai Lung's body exploded, stopping Kai's next attack before he destroyed the chains and shot at Kai.

Kai grinned and dropped the chains and engaged in close combat with Tai Lung. The exchange between the two strongest combatants in history was intense. Both of them moved swiftly, each strike created a shockwave that could shatter boulders.

They showed the impossible, violence was elegant when used by them. But as the exchange continued, it was clear who had the upper hand.

Tai Lung.

Even Oogway himself could not compare to him. If the old tortoise created Kung Fu, Tai Lung owned it.

There was no pattern to his movement, there was no specific style or technique. His body moved like a machine, pushing the very boundary of mortality and the limits of flesh. Every twitch of his muscle and split-millisecond decision was made with the wisdom of a thousand Kung Fu masters.

Kai's millennia of experience allowed him to not get instantly beaten but it proved to be insufficient to bridge the sheer gap of skill.

Kai roared and grabbed Tai Lung's body. His powerful arms held Tai Lung and squeezed him, trying to squash his flesh.

The snow leopard just growled and conjured blue flames. The fire burned hotter than the sun and the ground below turned into liquid lava.

They both sank down as if they were on a body of water. But neither was really affected.

Kai started laughing as the blue flames burned the surrounding air. The clouds in the sky darkened even more due to the heat.

The space around them seemed to flicker, on the verge of collapsing.

"Hahahahaha!! It's no use!!!" Kai yelled and laughed yet his happiness was short-lived as Tai Lung opened his maw and took a giant bite at Kai's face.

Half of his face was bitten off as the leopard ripped it with his sharp teeth. A green dissolving chi was there where Kai should have a face.

Tai Lung escaped from his hold after that and he shot up to the sky. Kai also lept out of the lava to heal his face and to repair his weapon. He threw his hands up and his jade blades retired to his hands.

After that it was easy to fix the chains and the weapon became as good as new. Tai Lung spun them around on both hands, the short swords crated spark on the ground with each rotation.

With his face fully healed, Kai looked up to the sky, wondering what his opponent was doing. He had been gone for a while now and Kai did not have a good feeling about it.

"Hmmmm??" Kai's eyebrows stitched together in confusion.

Kai did not know what was going on but every fibre of his being was screaming out danger. From the way his spirit reacted, it felt like the world was going to end.

A chill ran down his spine when he saw his hair standing up. He felt goosebumps all over his body as every strand of fur in his body also stood up.

He looked around and small pebbles and twigs levitated. He did not know what was coming but a great calamity was upon him.

He looked back up to the sky, just in time to see the humongous dark could part way for something else, something blue and something that could instill terror in his heart he thought had disappeared long ago.

A Dragon.

A gigantic dragon made entirely of lighting emerged from the dark clouds. The sheer size of the creature was so big that it made the endless expanse of the sky look tiny.

Lighting cracked around and thunder shook the sky. At the centre, he could see Tai Lung controlling said the dragon.

"Let's turn up the heat shall we." Tai Lung whispered but he heard it. It was as if the world was afraid to tall over Tai Lung - everything was quiet when he spoke.

Kai's shocked expression dissolved and a challenging grin took its place. He hurriedly threw his blades a few meters away from him and then he tugged at them to create a small circle.

After a few more careful pulls, the blades create a perfect yin-yang symbol on the ground. The symbol lit up with green chi, ready to face the titanic dragon made of lighting in the sky.

"COME ON!!!" Kai screamed to the heavens and to Tai Lung.

Right then, Tai Lung threw the dragon made of lighting to the ground. With a bright flash and in a literal instant, the attack struck the world like nothing had ever struck the world before.

Kirin.

The mountains were obliterated and the earth was pulverized.

Vast sceneries that made any mortals gazing upon it feel small - were decimated in but one exchange. A battle of this calibre had never been witnessed before.

And that, was only the start of the battle.
