Blobs, Dungeons & Pixel Girls

Heyho, you funky sexy dungeon delver!

Some of you might already know that I'm quite a big fan of retro games.
I don't have a specific preference (like in 'I only play action games on Playstation from the years 1990-1996' or something), instead I just play whatever I find interesting (fortunately, emulation is pretty good nowadays).
So, the game I'm currently playing is called 'Dungeon Master'.  It's the grand daddy of all action RPGs, a real milestone in game design!
The game is entirely tile-based with tile-based dungeon layouts and tile-based movement, and belongs in the genre of the so-called 'blobbers' (because your 4-champions-party moves along the corridors as one 'blob', hehe). The gameplay is realtime, though - you have to fight the monsters right as they come at you!
Plus, there are countless cool puzzles, and a leveling system where you can upgrade your chracters in four different specialties (fighter, ninja, priest and wizards) through practice, a rune-based spell system (also real-time) and of course lots of new items and gear.

It looks dated by today's standards maybe, but Dungeon Master is really fun!
The simplicity makes it great for me, there's really only your champions, the enemies and the dungeon with all kinds of puzzles.

Well, I figured all those dungeons, pressure plates and teleporters would make for a nice new level setting for Smutty Scrolls!
In fact, I've played the second game in the series, Dungeon Master 2: Legend of Skullkeep,  before this one (yeah, inconsistency... but what a metal name, right?)... so how about we make this two levels? Or maybe three for the 'Chaos Strikes Back' campaign for Dungeon Master?

Yeah, there's a dog and a weird dwarf girl in there. I don't know how I feel about those, but I sure as heck like the other ones :D

Aaah, there's something about old pixel art that just tickles my brain in just the right way.
