Character Poll Winner and a lil spaz essay on BL and Sasamiya

Hey Wayfies! 😊Omg we have a winner! Or Winners?! haha this is a first. First off thank you so much to everyone who voted! This lineup is extremely unique given three of them are very new to me. I'm grateful to everyone who voted, commented and expressed their interest in these characters! 😁

Rest assured that even if you choice win, there's always a next time! I also believe these characters are such cuties so if i do get the time one day, I might just make art for them too. 😉

With that we have Sasaki and Miyano!💖 OMG I just started watching this series and tbh I'm a bit overwhelmed. If I'm being completely honest, I went thru a BL phase in the pandemic then overtime, the interest in BL dwindled. It's not that I don't like BL anymore or think its bad media, i think its great! But here in my country, the Philippines, there was this huge influx of BL content right after this one BL series got popular, sooo local film studios started making their own and it came to a point that it felt ingenuine and cash grabby.. I hate the fact that they used BL as a trend. Anyways depressing haha so I steered away from any BL content after that. 😖

I'm still halfway thru the series but I think I'm getting a grasp of their characters. When I started the series I was a bit skeptical cause I'm usually not a fan of the typical BL tropes. The Seme-Uke kind of things are not up my alley. I don't think its bad per se, but it just does not resonate with me as a gay man. Putting things into perspective tho, on how these characters are still figuring things out, I can appreciate how clueless they are with queerness in general. It feels genuine enough for me that the whole "I don't know if I like him plot but I like reading BL" crisis of Miyano feels realistic to me, if I put into perspective that he's technically still figuring it out. To top it all off, the series is set in Japan where queerness is accepted but theyre still conservative there compared to other places in the world. (I think, well last time i checked).😁

So yeah overall I'm liking it! 💖The series is cute and has its moments and I'm excited to add my spicy twist to Sasamiya.. Ofc I'll be setting it when they're in college when there both consenting adults hehe.
