Sisters of High Vigil

For two millennia, they've maintained a vow of silence, wandering slowly around churches and monasteries. At night and on foggy days, their long, dark-robed figures move among the townspeople, quietly reminding them of their presence. Occasionally, they are seen staring intently at passersby, their only expression a blinkless gaze and an impassive pout. Interestingly, the island also has a notably high rate of men disappearing, but that's another story...
