I think I see where people were coming from now with the complaints. Based on the first two episodes it seemed a perfectly fine adaptation. However, they mangled the character progression for Zuko. If you already love him, his entire arc is dead in the water. Didn't enjoy their Bumi either. Gota drop this before I actually start hating on it!

2024-03-03 22:54:19 +0000 UTCYou could also argue that if Iroh had been brave enough to be ruthless and take out Ozai that he could have stopped all of that, I think we know he had the connections to put together a squad to do it.

2024-03-03 22:41:39 +0000 UTCYou know I think this is the first time we actually got any characterization of iroh's son we heard he died and nothing about his relationship with zuko.

2024-03-02 06:03:25 +0000 UTCZuko is on βprisoner transfer duty?!β The writers are obviously Star Wars fans. Heβs missing his random firebender.

2024-03-02 01:20:07 +0000 UTCWhen the Aang said βthis isnβt the wayβ I couldnβt help but imagine General Iroh responding with βThis is the wayβ then Zuko popping up saying βTHIS IS THE WAYβ

2024-03-02 00:54:47 +0000 UTCLu Ten was the son of the crown prince. He wasn't forced to do anything; he wasn't just some random soldier. Additionally, I reject your use of neutral language. This isn't merely people on both sides dying in "some war"; the Fire Nation are aggressors who have already committed one genocide and are hell-bent on imperial expansion. Ba Sing Se has the right to defend itself from such aggressors, and every Firebender killed trying to breach their walls had it coming.

2024-03-01 07:30:27 +0000 UTCThat's actually a wild statement. Claiming that soldiers in war doing what they are forced to do (rather they believed it to be right or not) dieing is getting what's coming to them. That's actually like the most asshole thing you could about a scene where someone lost a child. You can acknowledge that soldiers die in wars while still understanding or sympathizing with how loss effects both sides.

2024-03-01 07:15:28 +0000 UTCyes thats 1 of my main flaws with aang is that he gets bailed out a lot

2024-03-01 06:51:43 +0000 UTCOzzie has only been fire load for 6 years so itβs safe to say he hasnβt impacted the world as much as the previous fire lords I donβt think people know that heβs new to being a leader even during the scene where irohs son died he was just a prince just like zuko

2024-03-01 05:18:58 +0000 UTCSince I pointed out a bunch of stuff I didn't like last time, one thing I do like is this show confronting Iroh in a more direct way. We all love him, and losing his son was awful, but let's remember they were the aggressors and were besieging a city for 600 days. His son kinda got what was coming to him. The animated show kinda dances around the topic a little more, so that soldier getting to say his piece was a good change to me.
