Naofumi has to learn to trust again and thatโs a long road to travel after whatโs been done to him. And that cursed shield shows what can happen to him if he gives in to his hatred. Luckily, he has best-girl-ever Raphtalia to keep him grounded.

BUT BUT regardless of that, If you listen to my comments at the end of the episode around timestamp 43:20. I talk about his character and how I don't blame him for being the way he is because he is a flawed character by circumstances....
