Reminder: I'm introducing darker themes to my work in 2019!
A little sketch before the month runs out!
During the kerfuffle last week, I had a lot of mixed feelings about Trish. For a split second I thought about just getting rid of him, even, but thankfully that didn't last long. A few days ago, I started doodling him just to warm up, and then to explore his character a bit more.
I decided he really likes dogs, haha. I got thinking in that direction after a patron asked to see some feral Pokemon, but it just kind of morphed into it's own thing. Here he is with a bunch of stylish FurFrou.
Trish is a bad guy, but so far the only thing to counter that has been his appearance - he didn't really have any redeeming qualities, or things that added shades of grey to his character, and I was just generally not that impressed with it. So now he takes in strays, and one of his preferred, uh, targets, are people who are cruel to animals. So he's still pretty awful, but at least he's got some kind of morals...? That's gotta be worth something.
This is still kind of a fledgling idea. I have no idea what kind of people he goes after, or how he figures out what they're doing, or how he gets close to them, or anything like that. So far I just know that he has, and that "jobs" like that have lead to him taking in and re-homing dozens of these dog Pokemon. Willow and Sasparilla (I didn't realize the word was Sarsaparilla at the time) here are his two forever companions. Both of them are boys, because not even Trish's pets can be masculine.
He probably also has a pet project of making very special dog treats for them.
Probably more later!
