Patreon update!

New stuff!

I spent this weekend sprucing up my page. I've been seriously slacking on this, but I'm really happy with how things look, and I'm excited to start actively promoting things again soon. ^^

Smaller and visual changes

• New graphics (banner, text header), and general tweaks to wording and layout.
  
• I re-wrote my description to be a bit more light hearted and personable, heavily hinting at the kind of content I do while, hopefully, not incriminating me too much. I figure people who pledge should be familiar with my art already.
  
• Tiers are rewritten, too. Readability should be better, hopefully. Patreon's CSS is kind of weird.

Large things

• Alternate versions are now at $1, instead of $5. I do want to do these more often, but I feel like I'm pretty far from it being worth four extra bucks each month. I really want the stuff at the $5 tier to be things I know I can reliably offer.
  
• $5 patrons get a 5% commission discount. In place of alts, I've added a tiny discount for this tier! My commissions are super limited, so it may not be worth it to pledge $5 just for a discount, but I thought it would be fun to add this in.
  
• Polls and suggestion box no longer guaranteed. I feel a bit sad about this one, but I think it's for the best. This year has been rough so far, and the polls and suggestion box have been something really difficult to keep up with.
  
  I DO want to keep doing these - this isn't a convoluted way of getting rid of them. I just have got to catch up first. I'm already two polls behind, and I haven't been able to do many suggestions at all. It's no fun for anyone if I keep starting them and not finishing anything.
  
  For now, instead of promising polls and suggestion boxes every other month, I'm going to do them as often as I'm able to! I'll finish one poll piece before making another, and I'll run through at least a few suggestions before opening for more.
  
  I might go back to the "definitely X per Y amount of time" when I'm making a bit more on Patreon. Then I can afford to put time aside and get them done quicker.
  
• Goals re-tooled. Another thing I got ahead of myself with, whoops. For a minute I had like four goals, with really specific rewards/additions, without... really knowing how I was going to do all of those things. As of today, I have just one, with some vagueness/wiggle room in it. When I'm closer to that amount, then I'll solidify what the goal will bring, and I won't start figuring out another goal until after that.
  
  I really just need to take things slow, is what I've learned, haha.

Discord

Still working on this! I made a lot of progress on it yesterday, but there's still some things left.

One thing I still haven't figured out is what to do with polls. So far I've done them on Patreon, but Patreon's options are a bit lacking; I wanted to do things like give higher-tier patrons more votes, but the only way to do it on Patreon is by making a whole new poll, which is a hassle for me, and a less enjoyable experience for you. Discord bots allow me to do that and a few other neat things, but if I go that route, people who don't use Discord will miss out on polls altogether.

In this moment, I think it will ultimately be the best decision to make that sacrifice, and move polls to Discord... But since I haven't launched the server itself yet, and there still two polls complete the art for, we'll wait and see how it goes.

For now, I can say I will do at least one more poll here on Patreon. I'm trying hard not to pull the rug out from you guys.

Ahhh I think that's all for now! Things are a bit bumpy right now because we have Nyghtwulf visiting us, and soon ShadderStag will be too! He actually lands in a few hours.

I should definitely have some art to post this week, though. Just gotta queue it up.
