When the Sun was God
Added 2023-05-09 11:18:14 +0000 UTCThis series is inspired by a film very dear to my heart. It's called "Old Tale: When the Sun was God" (translated from Polish) and is based on a book from 1876 year by J. I. Kraszewski.
The action of the film takes place in the 9th century, one hundred years before Poland was baptized. It talks about old Polish legends and traditions - mainly about the "bloody prince" Popiel. Legends say he died in a tower on a lake eaten by the rats and, fun fact, this story was an inspiration behing creating Fyke Isle (in Polish -Kłomnica) in Wtcher.
I was more interested in the other part of this movie that was about Ziemek, a young hunter and warrior, in love with the daughter of peasant Wisz. The girl - Dziwa - was my main inspiration for this series. She was destined to the gods has to live in the shrine of Świętowit. I won't go more into the details because if anyone is interested in watching this I don't want to spoiler any more.
