Demons of the mountains and caves - Skarbnik

A long time ago people told stories about treasures hidden deep in the mountain caves. They were guarded by various demons that lurked in the darkest corners for daredevils who wanted to get rich quickly. They led them deep into the center of the mountain, from where there was no return.

They were imagined in different ways. Some said they saw an old man with a long gray beard and a powerful stick on which he leaned. His name was "Liczyrzepa". Others encountered a woman in white robes lighting her way with a lantern. They called her "the White Lady" (Bielinka), and her moans echoed loudly off the walls. Sometimes, however, these demons appeared as slender and pale figures with beautiful faces but terrifying eyes. Their fingers were dirty and their nails were curved like a bear's. Those were called. These were simply called "the Treasurers".

To this day, old highlanders are afraid to enter narrow rocky passages or avoid climbing the peaks of some mountains. They also practiced making offerings to the mountain demons in order to gain their favor, unfortunately, this custom has long died out.

As the myth of "the White Lady" was common mainly among miners, it can be assumed that she was the personification of salt deposits in the mines.

As you can see from the first picture, the Treasurers were the closest to my heart but as always - please let me know what you think. Which one is your favourite? Or maybe there's a photo I took, that isn't here, but in your opinion also fit the descriptions? Every feedback is important!

Love, Erinthul.

The first photo of you coming out of the cave personifies this folklore beautifully! I really like the third photo of you in white with the lantern as well. But first one is absolutely my favorite!

Thank you! I like this one a lot as well!

The one if you coming out of the cave is one of my favourite of all your photos because it is so powerful and mysterious. It really suits this folklore well 💚

It's a common thing, the white lady. A white lady is associated with caves, lakes, ponds. All through Europe in the middle ages, and even in South America, I've read. The Catholic holy site is Lourdes, which is a grotto devoted to the Virgin Mary because of encounters with her, always describes her as a glowing lady in white. In Graham Hancock's book Supernatural he connects all the folklore and then connects them to faerie sightings from the middle ages, and then connects the faeries to modern UFO encounters. Whatever has been going on with these strange visitations have been going on for centuries
