Skinwalker

This photoshoot was kind of inspired by a creature similar to Skinwalker from Navajo legends or slavic Werewolf that's way closer to my heart.

I had this idea of using an additional light source in forest to create scary and unnatural self-portraits. You might remember when I first tried it over a year ago. That night I used car lights, which were too strong for my liking. This time I finally had the opportunity to use a very bright flashlight. I needed to ask someone for help tho because it felt a little scary to be out in the mountain forests at night all alone and nak-ed* plus I could use some help with holding this heavy flashlight ;)

I am extremely happy with the results (especially the first one) but I'd love to know which one is your favourite.

This time the symbols I made out of sticks don't mean anything specifically. I just sat one night and made them without looking for any inspirations and listened to my imagination. That's why I am really curious if any of them means something to you? What do they remind you of?

Thank you so much! Means a lot!

Oh that's a nasty smile 😱 Really nice photoshoot, all of them are really cool.

GoOz

Oh that's so cool! I love this type of stories!

Erinthul

Wow. I love this kind of unsettling tale swapping. I used to be a ghosthunter so I've encountered many weird things, but never personally a skinwalker

No way! That's so scary! One time I saw a small cabin in the middle of the forest in mountains. I saw a smoke comming out of the chimney and freshly cut wood. The problem was that there was snow everywhere and the only footprints that led to the house was made by an animal with huuge doglike paws. I'd like to imagine some werewolf living there :D

Erinthul

A friend of mine had encounters with a couple. Creepiest thing I've ever heard. The bizarre footprints in the snow and the scratches on her bf's house were over 10'/3.5m high

Steven Niehaus

Oh, that's perfect because I don't like to smile in my photos so I am really glad it worked here

Erinthul

Oh that's wonderful! I am really glad you liked them!

Erinthul

Thank you so much! I am so glad you liked them. The 2 one is my close second favourite as well. A bit different mood than in the 1 one so it was hard to pick between them :D

Erinthul

Oh yeah! So interesting. Yesterday I took a deep dive into those stories and I got myself spooked a bit :D

Erinthul

Thank you so much. I am really glad you enjoyed this post. You are right! This does look like Eastern Orthodox cross. I hope I didn't offend anyone

Erinthul

Oh, I am really glad you like so many photos from this set. That's wonderful!

#4!

Realy beautiful❣️I like 2,3,4, and 6 the most think that they brings forward the animal look beautifully ❣️

This is a truly fantastic collection, Ania! I love the setting, with those wonderful trees in the forest and the cool wooden symbols (the one in the middle - the highest one - reminds me a bit of an upside-down Eastern Orthodox cross). The lighting is perfect, making your eyes look spooky (although I'm sure you edited them for an even more striking effect). I think you look like an evil (but irresistible) creature of the night. Very interesting poses (some are wild) and facial expressions. My favorite portraits are 3 (absolutely alluring!) and the last one (8 - superbly beautiful pose!). I'm so delighted by this series.

Steven Angulo

I've always up been fascinated with skinwalkers. The stories are so eerie. There a dark energy with this shoot I like. The incandescence. Good job

Steven Niehaus

Fantastic! My favourites are two and six: the sense of an animal caught in the spotlight in two, and the shadow of the hanging symbol on your back in six. A great idea terrifically executed - they give a real sense of animalistic fervour.

C. Smith

My favorite is the first one as well. But the other ideas are working nice as well!

Cyu

That first one is really good. The smile combined with your contortions really brings the feeling you describe.
