Skinwalker
Added 2024-08-21 19:22:41 +0000 UTCThis photoshoot was kind of inspired by a creature similar to Skinwalker from Navajo legends or slavic Werewolf that's way closer to my heart.
I had this idea of using an additional light source in forest to create scary and unnatural self-portraits. You might remember when I first tried it over a year ago. That night I used car lights, which were too strong for my liking. This time I finally had the opportunity to use a very bright flashlight. I needed to ask someone for help tho because it felt a little scary to be out in the mountain forests at night all alone and nak-ed* plus I could use some help with holding this heavy flashlight ;)
I am extremely happy with the results (especially the first one) but I'd love to know which one is your favourite.
This time the symbols I made out of sticks don't mean anything specifically. I just sat one night and made them without looking for any inspirations and listened to my imagination. That's why I am really curious if any of them means something to you? What do they remind you of?

Image 1 is my favorite. That smile is at the same time beautiful and unnerving. Almost as if it's trying to be welcoming, but can't hide the sinister intentions underneath. The symbols remind me of that movie The Blair Witch Project with all those things hanging in the trees so naturally my brain goes to witchcraft. All around great shots!

I know you put a hell of a lot of time and effort and thought into your art. Don't let the slow responses get you down. We are all living our lives, you're a beacon of light, never forget it.
