Exclusive Audio date! (plus delay)
Added 2022-03-26 04:40:14 +0000 UTCHi all ❤️
I have some good news, and some bad news. The exclusive will be posted on the 29th! Woo! Very exciting, I enjoyed the poll result comments. Bad mews is that the nsfw locker room audio got all tangled up and broken, so it is delayed until I re-record it. I might just post it one of these days as soon as I record, but I think post-poning to Friday is the safest bet.
I hope you all are well. 🤍
Here’s a question for you to discuss! I noticed my face was all dry today, so I got a new face cream thing. It got me thinking, are you guys into skincare? Maybe some recommendations for cold, harsh bitter danish weather? What’s your relationship with that sort of thing?
Hugs 🍉

Thank you Cat! Catboy timelord with the universes coziest sweater, yes pls. I'm getting the strong urge to binge watch like all of the 10th/David Tennant era episodes.

2022-03-28 08:28:54 +0000 UTC100% will always vouch for cerave’s stuff! i took acutane in high school and it made my skin so dry. in the morning cerave AM moisturizer and the PM version at night! also, coming from someone prone to dryness and excema, first aid beauty’s oatmeal ulta repair cream is fantastic!!! it’s a bit pricey but the larger bottles are better and it lasts a long time

2022-03-26 22:43:38 +0000 UTCPoll options are always so great, makes it so hard to choose! I will hold Time lord Crunchy with his sonic Parker pen in my heart always. Gives me David Tennant’s 10 vibes but sweeter/cozier and just 🥰. Mary is gonna get my skin right as long as I follow all her instructions haha. I didn’t think I’d have so much fun talking about skin care when I literally have no routine but it’s so cool seeing what everyone does and how passionate they are.

2022-03-26 22:41:36 +0000 UTC*commenting is not scary* *people are nice * I'm very excited for the exclusive audio this month... all the poll options were so good that it really didn't even matter what won... although I do have to say that a time lord crunchy with a sonic screwdriver cleverly disguised as a Parker pen 🖊️ is now living rent free in my brain. So sorry to hear about the problems with the audio that was planned for yesterday. I know you were excited about it and I'm sure it will be just as amazing the second time around. 💜 I am the worst with skincare but will now be driving Mary crazy in getting her to tell me what to do. Also, thank you for giving us a topic to chat with each other about... these comment sections are ridiculously special these days. And Happy maybe Birthday. 🎁🎉💜 One of these days we'll be right.

2022-03-26 14:33:30 +0000 UTCYeah glycerin is awesome! One of the classic moisturizing agents
2022-03-26 14:32:21 +0000 UTCI like a moisturizer with glycerin in it - hyaluronic acid is great but if your climate has zero humidity (like mine) it’ll actually steal the moisture away where glycerin holds it in. Morning and night, I use Cerave or First Aid formula (that’s a brand) moisturizer. You may also like the feeling of Laneige water mask - it’s a really nice night mask that’s super light but really moisturizing - it’ll give your skin a head start in the morning.
2022-03-26 14:31:10 +0000 UTCA Parker Pen Sonic Screwdriver... now that's an idea right there ✍️

2022-03-26 14:19:33 +0000 UTCYes! Some of their product names are hilarious. "Let's get Sheet faced". Their products are so cute they make me feel so soft. Like on the inside soft.
2022-03-26 14:11:17 +0000 UTC@Careless Their masks have kitten names! And gift sets that come with cat ear headbands!!! PLS!! 😍
2022-03-26 14:06:51 +0000 UTC@_S yes, I think Australia has the strictest sunscreen protocols, which makes sense since the rates of skin cancer are also higher there. But Europe I think does ok as well, it's just that wearability is kinda low for a lot of sunscreens. But still better than the US, where they haven't approved a bunch of new sunscreen filters that have been in use for years in Asia and Europe.
2022-03-26 14:03:33 +0000 UTCI love peel off masks. I use I Dew Care's Disco Kitten. But if y'all have recs give them to me!
2022-03-26 13:59:54 +0000 UTCYO I found the Cerave one~!! I'm gonna try it once mine runs out 🤭

2022-03-26 13:58:15 +0000 UTC@careless enjoy your discovery journey! hehe @cosy yesyes Asian sunscreens always feel nice on the face! But tbh always been a bit dubious about the protection cos the Australian sun do be harsh 🔥. I feel like the LRP one is probably more reliable since it's actually sold in store here and Aus has really strict protocols for sunscreen.

2022-03-26 13:55:17 +0000 UTCI love the LRP sunscreen! The best one I've found locally too and it has better UVA protection than Nivea. But Nivea has such a nice consistency omg. You cannot beat Asian sunscreens when it comes to wearability.
2022-03-26 13:46:24 +0000 UTCThank you Mary and thank you S for sharing your routines. Sooo many products to look up!
2022-03-26 13:46:20 +0000 UTCOH I forgot!! I'm using up a sample of a sunscreen I don't really like at the moment. My next one to try is the LRP Anthelios Invisible Fluid. I used to use Nivia (Japan) Super Water Gel but I wanted to try getting something off the shelf here.

2022-03-26 13:44:22 +0000 UTCSimple clay masks are also good, especially for oily or acne-prone skin
2022-03-26 13:44:21 +0000 UTC👀
2022-03-26 13:41:25 +0000 UTCIf anyone is into face masks, straight up Manuka honey is a great one. It's moisturizing and the bees use the flowers from the tea tree so it's really healing for skin issues, too. I also use plain regular honey sometimes with good results. Obvious disclaimer, it's sticky af and you'd better have every single hair on your head firmly tied back out of the way or you will regret it. 😂
2022-03-26 13:39:45 +0000 UTC@_S no sunscreen?
2022-03-26 13:39:08 +0000 UTCOkok~ 😅 The bulk of it's the same for morning and night! [AM] - wash face with water + face towel - Some By Mi AHA/BHA Toner: swipe with cotton pad - Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion: it's like sticky water? One pump in my hand and I'll kinda pat over my whole face. Sometimes I'll do another layer if my face has been dry - Cosrx Galactomyces Essence: 1-2 pumps in hand, wipe over my face (also used to use Innisfree Green Tea Serum here but switched to Cosrx cos it was cheaper and kinda felt the same. But recently thinking about cutting this entirely and just doing more layers of Kikumasamune). - The Ord. Matrixyl + The Ord. Niacinamide: 3 drops of each, mixed in hand and wipe over face - Avene Cleanance Comedomed Anti Blemish Concentrate: a friend recommended this because we were both getting bad mask acne. I just use a little along my jawline/chin. - Nivea Soft cream (white tub) [PM] Everything the same except: - Kose Speedy Oil Cleanser on dry skin, then Avene Cleanance cleansing gel in the shower - Aveeno Dermexa Daily Emollient Cream instead of the Nivea one Sounds like a lot but it takes me about 15mins? But my skin absorbs products really quickly. Another friend of mine is the opposite and stuff takes ages to absorb. I think that's everything...! EDIT: Added another thing I forgot!

2022-03-26 13:16:40 +0000 UTC@_S I've tried the original Banila Co balm and enjoyed it, but the Cerave oil cleanser I found here is face & body and it's cheap and it's 16 fl oz / 473 ml
2022-03-26 13:15:17 +0000 UTCOoh I didn't know they had an oil cleanser! Not sure if it's available where I am. But yes have also heard good things about the Purito cleanser. My regular is Kose Speedy oil cleanser. I've also got some Heimish All Clean Balm cleanser but it's mainly for when I travel cos I scoop it out into a little tub.

2022-03-26 12:59:56 +0000 UTCSomething I do occasionally when my skin is really dry during winter is after my moisturiser, as extra final step I'll tap on a little Vaseline all over my face. It's like a mask and seals in all the moisture underneath and in the morning my skin feels a lot better. The skincare community on Reddit calls this slug life lol. But yes, skincare! I used to experiment with lots of different products but I've cut down to a good routine that works for me. Best advice to anyone trying to make a routine: - everyone's skin is different - don't get carried away! Only test one thing at a time - washing your face can be just with water, you don't have to use an actual face cleanser product. - a good routine doesn't have to be expensive Just a moisturiser is a good start, and that might be enough. If you want to start doing some fancy stuff like serums etc, imo The Ordinary is a good brand to start with. If anyone wants to try Asian skincare Cosrx is a solid choice too. Also if anyone wants my actual routine let me know, I just didn't want to spam with a wall of text 😅 Anyway, hope the second recording works out as well as the first!! ❤️

2022-03-26 12:58:59 +0000 UTCSad to hear about the locker room audio being broken, hope re-recording goes well. And yay for the exclusive audio date 🥰 Trigger warning – I am passionate about skincare and this is gonna be long 😅 So, as a teen I had very bad acne and benzoyl peroxide was the only thing that helped, but I still haven’t gotten into an actual routine until a few years ago. After a lot of research and trying to understand my skin type – combination/oily -, my conclusion was: - Morning routine – wash with a water-based cleanser (I mostly use Cerave’s Foaming cleaner, which works well for my skin type), then go in directly with my sunscreen. I am not a morning person at all so I cannot handle more steps in the morning and all the sunscreens I’ve used were moisturizing enough that I don’t need to apply a moisturizer beforehand, even though I think most people need one, especially during winter or due to a harsher / drier climate - Evening routine – wash with an oil cleanser to remove sunscreen (or the make-up that I only wear for events lol), then do another wash with my water-based cleanser, then moisturizer (I use Cerave for all of these haha) - Exfoliation – once in a while or as a spot treatment for the occasional pimple I get I use salicylic acid Sunscreen is the most important thing of all of these steps in terms of anti-aging methods. People usually think that sunscreen just prevents your skin from burning, but there are 2 main types of UV rays: - UVB – skin burning rays that are usually more potent during summer when the sun shines more - UVA – skin aging rays that are present all year round and will reach you even if it’s cloudy and the UV index is lower Therefore, people should be wearing sunscreen all year round (with few exceptions of course, like very northern countries where the hours of sunlight are very few), but take more care to reapply every few hours when the UV index is higher. This is even more important if people use exfoliating acids (salicylic, glycolic etc) or other active skincare like retinoids (vitamin A derivatives which are the best anti-aging treatments we have today, since they can even reverse some skin damage – the best ones are the most concentrated ones which are usually prescription based, not over the counter, but as a starting point The Ordinary has some beginner stuff). All of these treatments make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is even more important then. Asian sunscreens are some of the best in terms of protection and wearability and in Europe I really like La Roche Posay’s sunscreens. Also added bonus – sunscreen prevents skin cancer haha. And if you do wear sunscreen religiously, it’s a safe bet you need vitamin D supplements haha – but we generally need those during winter-time anyway. Also generally fragrance free skincare is the way to go – fragrance does nothing for your skin and it is one of the most common irritants and allergens, and people can develop skin sensitivities to fragrance over time, do you might be perfectly fine with fragrance stuff now but maybe in a few years it might damage your skin. Now, for Crunchy’s dry skin concern, I’d try a good moisturizer and maybe look in “slugging”, it’s basically putting in petroleum jelly ointment over your moisturizer when you go to sleep, it’s gonna lock in all the moisture and will not allow it to exit your skin as you sleep. Aquaphor and Cerave have good options for these. If that’s too much, you can also try some moisturizing toners / essences – Asian skincare has a ton of those – and then add a moisturizer on top. Or you can get a hyaluronic acid serum to add on damp skin after cleansing and then go in with your moisturizer. Unfortunately skincare is not a “one size fits all solution”, we all need to experiment with different products or ingredients to find what works best for us. Sorry not sorry about the long comment and have a nice timezone everyone 😊
2022-03-26 12:53:38 +0000 UTCCher, I totally get it. It's the worse when people point it out. Like bitch I know. Thanks. So something that helps me is, at night before I go to sleep I put Vaseline on my hands, like a good bit, then I put clean white socks on them. But I know you like cruelty free products so I don't know what the equivalent of that would be.
2022-03-26 12:49:37 +0000 UTC@Careless !!!! The hands! Me too!! And again I didn’t realize that’s what was happening until a doctor told me but I’ve had customers literally ask me if I won the fight beating someone up because of how bad my hands/knuckles looked. And I just gotta say no I’m losing the fight with myself sorry 😭 @Acedia the images you’ve just gifted me. Your mind 😍💯

2022-03-26 12:14:40 +0000 UTCCher, I do have eczema. It affects my hands the most. My biggest trigger is stress and anxiety so I pretty much keep that shit year round. It fucking sucks because anxiety brings on the eczema, the eczema causes more stress, which in turn causes more eczema. I hate it here.
2022-03-26 12:07:43 +0000 UTCCeraVe products are amazing. 🙌 Also, so many of us hot shower folks in here!! It would never do for us all to be in a place with one water heater. 😂
2022-03-26 12:04:29 +0000 UTCTbh not sure my heart could take Crunch as a time lord so it might be for the best lmao. The red patches on my face are so annoying! Are yours eczema too? I was told by a dermatologist they were and I said wait what? 😩. I’ve always used cetaphil over cerave but I’ve been looking for something new as I stated upthread. It’s so difficult having sensitive skin.

2022-03-26 11:46:47 +0000 UTCCrunchy, so sorry to hear about your audio mishap! It really sucks because you sounded so pleased. 😔 I'm sure your second take will be just as good if not better. I am unreasonably excited for this month's exclusive audio. I mean it's not my time lord daydream, but I am very keen to hear what you do with this month's choice. The anticipation grows. 😍 I have horribly sensitive skin so I am very careful about how I treat it otherwise I have to walk around with angry red patches of skin on my face. Because I need my showers hot enough to commune with my demons, I put on moisturizer before I take one. I keep my routine simple and use CeraVe face wash and CeraVa moisturizer with hyaluronic acid.
2022-03-26 11:39:57 +0000 UTCAww, no. That's sucks the audio didn't work out. You were so excited it was contagious. Hoping the re-record goes good. *Diligently taking notes* I have dry skin on my face sometimes but that's probably from the hot showers. I need to try some of these.
