[Ramble] Long and relaxed update-y talk [All sorts of things] [Cosy]

I have to get out the door! So no time to think about what I should write here.

Hi! You're great. I hope you enjoy 🤍

Comments

Yknow I've always known Tame Impala was around but never listened to their music. Guess I'm a fan now. Added Elephant to my playlists!! Same for Lizzo too, never really liked her music much but Good as Hell + Tempo!! (also Missy Elliot 👌) Woman/Wolfmother! I forgot about this song! Kinda got wiped from my mind since it's from the same album as Joker and the Theif. Also have now discovered they released a single last November (Midnight Train ❤️) Thanks for the research ☺️

_S

also, just popping on with another question - if you could choose to change just one thing about the world, what would you choose? and why? sorry if this prods ur brain a bit too much!

I couldn’t think of anything cause I’m not cool at all, until I saw Careless’ comment lol Tempo - Lizzo Woman - Wolfmother

cherucaustic

i hope i'm not too late for a question, it's been a busy few days for me! a burning question i have is: did you lube your cream switches before soldering them into your rev67? ((but also if you'd like to answer this through a ramble, i aint complainin 👀))

Ooh yes, don't see many Pleasantville fans! It's a fairly old movie. And yes to the Colin Firth series! Definitely have a love for both the movie and the series. If you like those then try the 2004 North and South mini series too if you haven't already. Tbh I don't think Violet Evergarden is that sad? It's an emotional series more because you sympathise with the characters, not so much because of tragic events (except for some things that happen in the first episode, which set up the overall plot). I usually avoid watching sad things too but I got sucked into the pretty animation while my housemate was watching it. Give the first 2-3 episodes a try if you're game. At least it's a short series! Aww that's a shame! Hating Game is one of my favourites cos I love the main character's inner monologue. She's a total psycho but I love it. Also reminded me of another old anime/manga with a similar dynamic at the beginning (Kare Kano). Oh well 😂

_S

Mrs Dubose: Killing Eve sounds exactly like my kind of series 👀 I'll definitely look into that! Tried starting Gilmore Girls years ago but still nowhere near the end, the number of episodes overwhelm me 😭😭😭 What you said about the plants is definitely true! I started with herbs and basically anything I need for cooking but I can't stop getting more even if it's not for the kitchen 🥲 _S: Finally someone who finds Pleasantville pleasant 😭✨ Pride & Prejudice is a fave too, have you tried watching the series, the one with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy? Money Heist is really good! Definitely worth a binge now that the series is over. I purposely avoid Violet Evergarden because of how sad it is (supposedly?) 😭 Spy Family is in my list to watch too! But I'm leaning on reading the manga instead since both are still ongoing 😭 I'm sorry I hated The Hating Game aaaa I liked the movie more though ;u; The Midnight Library was really good! I cried almost the entire time I was reading it. Devotion of Suspect X sounds very very fun 👀

Killer Queen by Queen Truth Hurts by Lizzo Good as Hell by Lizzo Nice for What by Drake (my favorite workout song)

I fucking love Tame Impala

Elephant - Tame Impala Voodoo Child (Slight Return) - Jimi Hendrix Apparently I need crunchy (heh) guitars to feel cool.

A late question for everyone, inspired by Cherucaustic because I always love music questions and finding new music. Songs that make you feel like the coolest mfker ever 🕶️ I already mentioned Day Tripper by The Beatles. Here's some more from a mix of eras: - Living in the 70's, Skyhooks - Evie (Part One), Stevie Wright - Summertime, Ray Conniff - Dive, Luli Lee - West Coast Love, Emotional Oranges - Fly As Me, Silk Sonic - Burj Khalifa, Epik High - Lesson 2, Epik High Making myself stop here otherwise the list would never end.

_S

@S don't apologize for your music taste. ❤ Backstreet Boys are not trash and boy bands in general are not trash. Also, I still play The Sims 3 and always listen to the radio. It's really good. 😆

@Mrs. Dubose Yes!! It's definitely hard to pick a favourite since the catalogue is huge and so many iconic songs 😍 I feel like a bit of a fraud sometimes though because I like their earlier albums more compared to the later ones they're celebrated for.

_S

@cosmic Animal by Neon Trees was absolutely my gay pining song 😂

Acedia

@_S The Beatles. 😍😍😍 I could talk about them for a million years in depth in detail from now until the end of time. I have loved them with all my heart since I was 9 years old. They're my absolute favorite, and the only reason I didn't include one of their songs in my list is because it's like trying to pick a favorite child. 🥰

I don't watch as many movies as I used to but some my all time favourites are Pleasantville, Memento, My Neighbour Totoro, How To Steal A Million, Pride and Prejudice, Fight Club. Recent ones I've liked are The Gentlemen, Dune, Palm Springs. For TV shows I've been watching The Good Place, Invincible, Big Mouth (fair warning, it's pretty crude but if you like Rick and Morty you'll be fine). Money Heist is good but I haven't gotten very far into it yet. If you like anime, Violet Evergarden (get ready for tears though), Erased, Komi Can't Communicate, Spy Family (it's very new but I'm hooked). EDIT: Forgot, books! Honesty most of what I read these days is romance and/or fantasy. The Hating Game is a definite fun favourite from recent years. The Ravanel Series is light and entertaining. Throne of Glass for a longer fantasy series (first book is a little weak but the rest are much better). For something different, The Devotion of Suspect X if you're interested in crime. The Midnight Library and The Daughter of the Moon Goddess are still on my growing to-read list.

_S

@skye According To You, Orianthi @cheru Simple and Clean, Utada Hikaru Wow these ones really take me back... 😶 Ok here's what I've got: - Everybody (Backstreet's Back), Backstreet Boys. Sorry about my trash taste lol. Mentioned this not long ago in another comment, but it makes me think of my sister since we used to listen to them a lot when we were kids. - Nobody, Wonder Girls. My gateway into Kpop. It's been a nosedive down the slippery slope ever since. - Fly, Epik High. My favourite song by one of my favourite artists. The first concert of theirs I ever went to was in Tokyo. I thought I'd end up missing it because I bought the tickets on a shonky Japanese website and was waiting for them to arrive at my hotel. They came the morning of the show. I almost cried when they performed Fly on stage. - Day Tripper, The Beatles. I knew a few of their songs but after a friend took me to see a Beatles cover band I listened to more of their albums. Something something rabbit hole and I realised that The Beatles were amazing. Day Tripper is my favourite. Idno, I just vibe and feel cool listening to it because I'm a dumb idiot on most days. - Dakota, Stereophonics. Was listening to this on single repeat during my uni days, but it mainly reminds me of my long drives to get to class. The traffic... 😑 I have a lot more but I challenged myself to narrow it down to 5 songs that I associate with memories and not just "I love this song" 😅 EDIT: Had a shower thought and wanted to add another song lol. - Cascade, Deluka. I heard this on the radio in The Sims 3. Seriously, even in Simlish this song was a bop. I would always turn on the radio just to play this track (and another one called Podie Tie haha). Eventually found out it was a real-life song and added it to regular rotation on my iPod. Don't know why but the track never made it to Spotify 🥲

_S

I will have to think on this some more because my mental music library is massive, but also I'm distracted because hello fellow MyDays @yellow seong + @Kaya 👀❤️ Zombie is a solid choice! Days Gone By, Somehow, and Time of Our Life are my favourites.

_S

@yellow seong not sure what would be considered k-indie, but it's possible i have listened to at least some. I don't usually stay fully stuck in genres, if i like a song, i just like it, no matter what "box" they fall in. The only songs i typically don't like are more like heavy rude rap or really hardcore metal or others like that.

Sex toy question. Yes please. Enquiring minds want to know.

(Surprisingly, I manage to be busy even on my vacation 🧐) I will not be a bore and not repeat in the second / third round everything that has already been said here without me. Not my style. As for the hair. Personally, I'm going to cut my hair because my hair has reached the point where it gets in my way, which is annoying. We can set a date and go to the hairdresser together. Question: Well, apparently, I have to repeat my question from yesterday about sex toys? So to say, that everything would be officially documented. So what about it, Crunchy? Do you have sex toys?

Happy happy birthday Crunch 🥳

I've been doing a rewatch of Gilmore Girls on Netflix for a while. It's my comfort show. I know it inside and out and I put it on when I need something cosy and familiar. For something a little more serious, I love Killing Eve on Hulu. The dynamic between the two lead women is 🔥. Both shows are in English. As far as hobbies, I'm one of those people from the memes who keep buying books while a massive unread pile accumulates in their home. 😂 I adore reading but haven't had the attention span for it in a while. I've been enjoying doing my nails because that's fairly mindless and soothing and the byproduct is feeling pretty. I also love taking care of my houseplants. Be forewarned, if you start down that path, it becomes an addiction, lol. Give me ALL the plants, I want to live in an indoor jungle pls. 💜

My brain is too sleepy to come up with my own list, but I’ve got to say that y’all have some great (and eclectic) taste in music!

Ange

Happy birthday! 🥳 Sending you a very active cat to enjoy at 4:50 in the morning because you would love her and I need SLEEP. 😜

Happy to hear you're settling in to your new place, Crunch! Happy to hear from you in general 🥰 If there's anything I can't do, it's probably trying to become a vegan/vegetarian 😭 Also probably because it's quite challenging to have such lifestyle from where I'm from where almost every healthier/better option is more expensive than meat for example. Accents are so cool! I remember binging all the Harry Potter movies over and over back one summer in high school to prepare myself with the last installment. And when we all got back to school, everyone's so confused as to why I sound different 😂 People have told me though that I sound like I'm from some part of the US but I feel like it's kind of a mix now since I work with Aussies and unintentionally mirror them in conversations 🥲 I'll always say this but I'm proud of you all for making your mental health a priority! im still proud of u even if ur just coping now and cant do anything about it yet ❤️❤️❤️ "yOu'Re A pOrNsTaR?!" 😭😂 That's so funny but relate af 😭😭😭 pls i thought u were gonna cry for a sec there 🥺 Crunchy is probably a comfort character of mine now. You're always in my heart, bestie. Go chase your dreams ✨ Qs for Chat and Crunch ✨ 🧐 You mentioned that it feels like you're working all the time, what do you usually do to divert yourself from the idea of "work"? Or maybe hobby(ies) you have that can help immediately shift your attention away from it? 🧐 (I'm asking because I'm in need of new things to consume lol) Any movies/shows/books that you'd always recommend? Any language for the film/show is fine ;;u;; These are mine: Movie: 3 Idiots (Hindi) Show: Mr Sunshine (Korean) Book: The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose and Into The Magic Shop by Dr. James R. Doty Have a lovely weekend 🌻

The way I honestly couldn’t even answer my own question 😩 but here’s my attempt anyway. I was never gonna be able to do 5 songs so here’s 15. I could’ve done 100. Mostly core memories for me. Sorry I’m still just an emo kid y’all 😭 Best of Me - The Starting Line Hurt - Johnny Cash Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet - Relient K Summer Girls - LFO Simple and Clean - Hikari Utada All Time Low - Jon Bellion Missing - Evanescence Break Myself - Something Corporate Don’t Look Back In Anger - Oasis Duality - Bayside Weightless - All time low Modern Chemistry - Motion City Soundtrack Silver Lining - Rilo Kiley I Want To Know Your Plans - Say Anything 30 - Bo Burnham

Happy Birthday. Enjoy your metaphysical cake. 🎂💜✨

Skye

@Kaya I think I teared up a little just because you know DAY6 😭 They're the love of my life. Do you listen to K indie artists too?

I've been overthinking what to say for too long so I will keep it short. ❤What you create matters. ❤I appreciate your boundaries and they make me feel safe to interact here in a fun way. ❤I'm glad things are going well for you. ❓If you can hear your neighbors are you concerned that they can hear you? 🤔 Thank you for spending time with us and Happy Birthday 🎉

@yellow seong i love seeing Day6 and YoungK on your list of songs. I love both Day6’s and YoungK’s music. Became a kpop fan thanks to Stray Kids last year and thru them was introduced to several other kpop groups, bands and artists including Day6. It’s been basically kpop non stop for me this past year, but I enjoy a variety of music depending on my mood.

myuniverse032518

A lovely ramble, Crunchy. Glad you're settling in your new place (which seems to have great light btw, given your lens photos). I quite like being in a new place, it's the act of moving - the packing and hauling and unpacking and finding places for things - that is daunting. I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy your job, and find it meaningful. Taking a hobby, or a creative outlet, and making it "work" can definitely change our relationship towards it (I'd be interested to hear you talk on that if ever you'd like). It does matter though, and you really have made my life better through what you do. I'm clearly not the only one, either. I'm glad that you can see that, and that we've let you know that you affect us positively. I do think that an FAQ with a note about personal interactions is a good idea. Things can be blurred with any type of content creator, but particularly with the sort of intimate and vulnerable space you occupy, I understand why some people reach out. Also if a person has listened to some of your older audios, there's some encouragement in those to message you. My question: what's the most unexpected thing for you, to have come out of this community? (Take "community" as you'd like - GWA, audio porn in general, Patreon...) Happy weekend hugs and absolutely sending kisses!

Ange

Found this quite hard to answer since I dont really have favourite songs and I follow like 2 artists 💀 But I guess these vibe with me the most: Zombie - DAY6 I Did Something Bad - Taylor Swift no body, no crime - Taylor Swift Maria - Hwasa Love Me Less - Young K cover

cheru i love this question! took me a minute to think of my answer cause it’s hard to narrow this down to five songs team by lorde- honestly lorde’s entire discography but that’s cheating. i truly believe lorde’s music is for the people who missed out on being reckless, carefree teenagers because of mental health struggles, but for a few minutes you can pretend you had a different life in her songs animal by neon trees- pining for someone i can’t have you and i by pvris- pining for someone i can’t have but make it gay take care by beach house- for the lovely friends i had and have now like real people do by hozier- cottagecore vibes, the aesthetic i want to have

cosmicdreams

Okay, I'm back. If you ask me again tomorrow I'll have a completely different answer, but these are five of the MANY many songs of my soul. In no particular order. 1. In The Garage -- Weezer 2. Welcome to New York -- Ryan Adams (Sorry, Swifties, I like his cover better.) 3. I Only Have Eyes For You -- The Flamingos 4. How Do You Sleep -- LCD Soundsystem 5. The Weight -- The Band

Ok - these all have ties to specific moments in my life that I'm not going to go into... but off the top of my head... Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo Good Riddance - Green Day Better Days - Goo Goo Dolls It's All Been Done - Barenaked Ladies Hell Of A View - Eric Church According to You - Orianthi

Skye

Cheru, I am sorry, but my music tastes are too all over the place and my life has been both boring af and also weird, so answering this question would take me like 5-10 business days lol

Awesome questions, Cosmic, very curious to know these answers too!

These are my AMA / ramble questions. I’d like to know how you got into music / singing? The barbershop quartet and all that? Also, curious to know what American media have you recently watched? Do you have a favourite tv show?

I thought this was going to be easy 😭 I am so so sorry. Oingo Boingo - Home Again (the very first oingo boingo song that was introduced to me when I was a small kitten by my uncle. But I love all their songs and their influences helped me appreciate many other forms of music) Deadsy - Phantasmagore (mainly where I got my reddit name from, but listened to this song a lot in middle and high school. I love the idea of dream-like illusions, and I think the song sounds nice in an interesting way) Detektivbyrån - Om Du Möter Varg (I just think it sounds pretty, when I'm in that "walking on clouds" state of mind, this song captures that feeling. Kärlekens Alla Färjor from the same band catches it too) Tiny Tim - Me And The Man On The Moon (different from his well-known way of singing, but I find it helpful for that inspirational pick-me-up) And for the sillies, I Love Cats by Vision Video (Furry felines and human rights ftw) If I keep going, this will never end. Too many beautiful songs out there! Awesome question 💙

Phantasm Cat

@Dubose I can forgive you as long as you’re back here later with a killer playlist 😉

cherucaustic

I'm sorry, I can't talk right now, I'm glued to the sex toy conversation on lens. 😂

Bones by Imagine Dragons. The Stranger by Billy Joel. Cloud Nine by Owl City. Idk 3 different songs for 3 different moods that have resonated lately. Update lol. Run by One Republic is my new work out song.

Acedia

my questions: - what has been your favorite audio to record? - which audio are you most proud of? why? - which audio creatively challenged you the most?

cosmicdreams

My question for Crunch and the lovely patrons here is simple - If you had a soundtrack to your life in 5 songs (or more) what would those songs be? Can be songs you think describe you or songs you resonate with or ones that were playing during core moments. You choose.
