I feel weird commenting on older audios, but I was listening to old rambles and vaguely understood some the Spanish here now. There's a thing called 'switch cost' in referring to languages and bilingualism (or being trilingual too.) For some reason, the brain does have a bit of delay after switching languages. The delay differs depending on how fluent you are between the languages, wether is just comprehension or actually speaking, if the sentences are full switch, or if it's a mash up of the two languages, etc. You can get better at it but I don't know if anyone is capable of a 'no-cost switch'. There's tons of studies on this with widely different findings (that I don't fully understand), but it's atleast pretty common among polyglots.

This ramble was the first thing I listened to when I woke up this morning and is about to be the last thing I listen to before falling asleep. The day was insane so a real comment will have to wait for another time...but it's good to hear your voice. You're always missed. 💜

yes moans are definitely a global language, especially *recent ones*, i understand them really well, yes definitely. but jokes aside, I find this whole topic of sexy languages super interesting (why do sexy talks in our native non-English languages often make us cringe?? why do we prefer English??). I wanna write more about it but I'm swamped with deadlines rn and i don't have time to get too deep into this, maybe i'll return to it in a couple of days. meanwhile good luck crunchman in all your endevours and overseas adventures, this was a delightful update-ramble-thing. sending hugs to everyone and don't leave your deadlines until the last minute

good to hear from you crunchy! glad to hear you’re doing well and excited for the move, i wish you the best of luck with the moving process and i hope it’s a great experience for you 🤍✨ hearing you talk about how proud you are of your sister made me soft as a fellow older sibling. we don’t really get sentimental with each other, but if anyone were to ask i would say that my sister is my best friend and one of the coolest people i know. i’m sure it’ll be tough to be away from each other but it seems like you guys are so mutually supportive of each other and that’s lovely 🥰 the james webb telescope images are so incredible!!! i’m just blown away every time i look at them, and learning how many light years away some of these nebulae are is just… incomprehensible really. that one image where each tiny circle is a whole fucking galaxy???! insane. also these images are amazing because we can’t actually see this with the naked eye because we can’t see that much infrared light. as a certified gen z, i can say that our humor is…. distinct 😂 i watched this video essay recently about gen z humor and how it’s essentially one big inside joke and that feels pretty accurate to me. i feel like millennials have a hard time understanding it sometimes, and even as an older gen z i feel a bit out of the loop with some of the memes and trends going on in my generation. my sister makes fun of me that i’m stuck in 2014 lol, but i just own it. yeah i like soft grunge aesthetic and listen to the ultraviolence album on a daily basis 😌 thanks for the ramble crunchy! sending love and good energy to you and everyone here 🌱

Hope everything leading up to the move goes well! Planning that kind of stuff is always the hardest for me; at least during the actual 'event' there's just too much going on for me to have time to get anxious. Yes! Everyone should look at the photos back from the James Webb telescope at least once! I'm such a huge space nerd, so it's been so exciting, especially seeing the direct comparisons to what Hubble had taken. Just think about with how majestic and expansive the new photos are, that they're still just such a small pinhole glimpse of everything that's out there in the universe. I wish you had gone on about your keyboard switch preferences more 😂 I love mechanical keyboard talk. I was never a fan of the clacky-ness of blues and reds, so I've used browns for forever now. They have just the right amount of noise feedback without being overbearing. Really enjoyed you goofing around with your guitar at the end, have a good week Chrunchy ☺️

- It's unsettling when you realise that you're not the kid on the playground anymore and have somehow become the adult supervision. 😶 - It's ok, Gen Z is also a mystery to me. I don't understand the trends and outrages of younger generations anymore. Also anyone born after 2000 will always be a child in my mind and I shall waggle my old lady finger if you tell me otherwise. Apologies if this applies to you chat 😅 - I remember when my older sister left for her first solo overseas trip. I cried when she left too, especially since she was leaving for a month (which thinking about it now doesn't seem all that long anymore). In a pre-smartphone time, she emailed me a couple of times a week about all the cool stuff she was doing. It's funny when you think about how easy it is to stay in touch now compared to 10+ years ago. Anyway, you're moving overseas!! I'm excited for you. Safe travels sir, you'll have an amazing time. And thanks for the updates, this was a nice notification to see as I finished my evening shift at work. Off to sleep for me now (while I listen to more of you... hehe ☺️)
